Aw hit em'
Cherry Blossom petals in the bathroom
Got something I need to ask you
Mmm' mmmmm'
Mmm' mmmmm'
Needa'
Snap back into reality stuck in a lover's mentality
We just keep on running away
We just keep on running away
Ain't it crazy how our life's have changed (So crazy)
Waking up in a different day (Different day)
Dawn breaks and the bills not paid
We don't even care the rents now late
We're just crazy bout' the love we make (Oh)
Push and pull it's a give and take (Oh)
Never even room to contemplate
It's like oh my God baby
Is It so crazy (Mmm')
I love you baby (Yea')
Is it so crazy
Ya' like oh my God baby
Is it so crazy (Mmm')
I love you baby (Yea')
Is it so crazy
We're like oh my god baby
Lay you down takin' your shoes off
Sleeping in late wearing the booze off
Damn last night was crazy
Alcohol got my mind a little hazy
Waking up next to you still spinin'
Drunk off your love cause that's what I'm sippin'
You just smile say that I'm trippin'
I'm not crazy baby I just love you
And everything that you do
Want to take you home baby wrap my arms all around you
Cherry Blossom petals in the bathroom
Know how you like it so I don't need to assume
Oh
When I hit it like this (Ugh) and we go like that(Yea)
And it sounds like this babe (Oh)
We can do it like that
Talkin' oh my God baby (Lemme' talk to em')
Is It so crazy (Is it so crazy)
I love you baby (I love you baby)
Is it so crazy
Ya' like oh my God baby
Is it so crazy (Is it so crazy)
I love you baby (I love you baby)
Is it so crazy
We're like oh my God baby
(Like oh my God baby)
Is It so crazy (Is it so crazy)
I love you baby (I love you baby)
Is it so crazy
Ya' like oh my God baby
Is it so crazy (Is it so crazy)
I love you baby (I love you baby)
Is it so crazy
We're like oh my God baby (Yea) (Mhm')
Oh you like that (all night and all day)
Okay (you can have it anyway) (Oh oh oh)
You like when I do it like that (Oh oh oh)
Just like that

"I've got this one spirit that's laying roses on me. Roses, roses, can't get enough of those bloody roses. The rose is the most prominent image in the human brain, as to delicacy, beauty, short-livedness, thorniness. It's a whole. There is no better allegory for, dare I say it, life, than roses." - Robert Hunter

this is another sweet one off of Cold Roses. the whole album is more or less a tribute to the musical genius of the grateful dead, and seeing as robert hunter's most common muse was the rose it's only logical that ryan adams would do the same in the tribute.

roses are beautiful but when you grow flowers you need to tend them otherwise they'll get raggedy unkempt. people are like that, too - most things are like that.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
