Kiss all your fingers
What's that for
You'll never get to heaven
With your shirt all tore

Cut through your finger
And cut you loose
Lost a lot a blood
Lost a lot a cool cool cool

Now it ain't such a thrill
It ain't such a thrill
Now it ain't such a thrill
It get's a little dirty

Like the guts of a hack
And you'll never get it back
You'll never get the damn thing back
Looked a picture

It took up half a roll
The way you went and took off
Half your clothes, and now
It ain't such a thrill

It ain't such a thrill
It started at the back of the shell
And it ain't such a thrill
Running to catch up

The last city bus
Wearing out your yellow
Hula dress
Lipstick a mess

Your ch-cherry best
Kissing on the window
Just to check on the red
You know, it ain't such a thrill

Now it ain't such a thrill
It started at the back of the shell
Now it ain't such a thrill
It ain't such a thrill

It ain't such a thrill
It ain't such a thrill

I think the song is about virginity and a girl is all but too eager to lose her virginity.. which she ended up doing

Kiss all your fingers... what's that for? --> trying to turn the guy on You'll never get to heaven with your shirt all tore. ---> reference to abstinence in christianity Cut through your finger and cut you loose. Lost a lot of blood. Lost a lot of cool cool cool. -> blood loss of virginity Now it ain't such a thrill. -> now you look back at losing it, its not that funny. It gets a little dirty like the guts of a hack and you'll never get it back, -> virginity you'll never get the damn thing back. Looked at a picture. Took up half a roll, the way you went and took off half your clothes... --> something with stripping, taking nude pics for hi and now it ain't such a thrill. It ain't such a thrill. It started at the back of the Shell and now it ain't such a thrill. Running to catch up, the last city bus, wearing out your yellow hulla dress. Lipstick a mess. Your ch-cherry best. -> poppy the cherry, virginity.. Kissing on the window just to check on the red. You know, it ain't such a thrill. It ain't such a thrill. It started at the back of the Shell. Now it ain't such a thrill.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.
