There's a special place inside my skull
Where your DNA it codes my cerebrum
In full stuttering and drooling
My shredded throat will try to sing for you

What do you say? Would you marry me today?
The moon would gush all inside out
And my nightmares would go away
What do you say? Would you devote yourself today?
Like riding out a sinking ship as it lowers into the bay
Please stay.

The blood collects and flushes out your cheek bones
I've got this secret garden and you are the only one who knows
I'm stuttering and drooling
My shredded throat will try to sing for you

What do you say? Would you marry me today?
The moon would gush all inside out
And my nightmares would go away
What do you say? Would you devote yourself today?
Like riding out a sinking ship as it lowers into the bay
Please.

I'm cutting ties with all the jealous zombies
I need to feel your warm body on me

When the sun goes down and the shadows grow
Just trust in us and forever know
Please keep holding on to me

i think its simple just someone who loves his girlfriend and is realizing that he would have nothing if she left him "please keep holding on to me" he needs her and hes wondering what if i marry, and devote myself to her, then it will surely last

at the beginning, the song is describing how much he means to her, so much that part of his brain practically belongs to her. Interesting use of words in the song, cerebrum isn't commonly used, lol. its also telling how he wants to be with her forever, by asking if she'd devote herself to him today. he wants to be next to her and feel her. how sweet. lol

I think it's about a heroic act, because Valiant means showing some kind of courage... and I think in this case, the courage is the guy giving up some things he enjoyed in hopes of getting the girl.

I agree with a lot of what was said above. Basically he's deeply in love with someone and he's sick of being jealous as in: "I'm cutting ties with all the jealous zombies" And he's ready for commitment: "What do you say, would you marry me today?" I think the first few lines refers to how she's always on his mind (except he basically says this in a literal way, lol) He talks about holding onto her, maybe he's afraid she'd leave him for somebody else? "When the sun goes down and the shadow grow, just trust in us and forever know", basically their relationship and love will get them through the tough times that he seems to know are coming. I'm not sure about the sinking ship bit though, perhaps this just means they have a rather rocky relationship? My favorite line though is "My shredded throat will try to sing for you" I love this song, another one of tsc's great ones...

    1. "Valiant" (I think the title comes from the chorus. As in if the girl married him today, if she devoted herself to someone so unworthy and filled with problems [a sinking ship lowering into the bay]. it would be a "Valiant" and noble decision.)

    2. I also think that the lyrics are wrong, I know in the liner notes of the CD Nick writes, "When the sun goes down and the shadows grow just trust in us and forever know" I think after he says "know" and starts going "oooooooooo" I really think that 'ooooooo' is "I will." So it's like, "When the sun goes down, and the shadows grow, just trust in and us, and forever know I will." Meaning, if you trust in us, then dont ever doubt that I will stop trusting in us.

    3. This is pretty much my favorite song by TSC, besides "Still Walking After You" and if any of you reading this play guitar, I have the chords for the acoustic intro to the guitar. If you IM me, I'll send them to you and see if you can figure out the hammer-ons and pull-offs between the strumming and chords I came up with. My AIM is "SUNSETSon24th" and my e-mail is jj@defiancedesigns.com. And yes, The word "SUNSETS" on my screename came from Sunsets and Car Crashes. I also have a Valiant screename. :P.

"I'm cutting ties with all the jealous zombies, I need to feel your warm body on me."

This part is wonderful. I think the song is as simple as can be.. he loves her. He would take the plunge with her this instant, and asking if she feels the same.

Cajun Girl

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

American Town
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran shares a short story of reconnecting with an old flame on “American Town.” The track is about a holiday Ed Sheeran spends with his countrywoman who resides in America. The two are back together after a long period apart, and get around to enjoying a bunch of fun activities while rekindling the flames of their romance.
