"In My Head" as written by and Anna Nalick....
Under the weight of your wings
You are a god and whatever I want you to be
And I wonder if truly you are
Nearly as beautiful as I believe

In my head
Your voice
You've got all that I need
And this make-believe will get me through another
Lonely night

Under the weight of your wings
Should ever we meet on your side of the stereo
I will pretend I know not of your thoughts
And even the way that they mirror my own
I'll take you away in the way that you take me
And go where I go

In my head
Your voice
You've got all that I need
And this make-believe will get me through another
Lonely night

Fall awake to the sound of my heart to your beat
Melancholy and cool kind of bitter-sweet
Love on repeat
I'm echoing all your philosophies

I don't want to be fool-hearted
Baby I'm outnumbered in my head

In my head
Your voice
You've got all that I need
And this make-believe will get me through another
Lonely night

Under the weight of your wings
I make-believe you are all that I'll ever need
All that I need

    General CommentI love the lines:

"Fall away to the sound of my heart to your beat
Melancholy and cool, kind of bitter sweet
Love on repeat" ( yes it's away, the lyrics are wrong).

There's just something about that part that I love.

General CommentShe's fallen in love with a musican, in my opinion. She does not know him but she is nearly obsessed. Their songs are on repeat in her head and she idolizes their thoughts as if they were her own. She wants to work with them musically as well as be with them, I believe. Somewhat like how a young girl idolizes a good-looking male musician.

General CommentI've always thought this song was more of a long distance relationship thing, or maybe that's just how I want to see it that way. Anayways, it sems to me more like a thing where he usually comes to visit her and the "should ever we meet on your side of the stereo" part was if she ever came to his place and saw his friends and all that. When she isn't around him, she smooths over the bumpy parts and he seems so perfect, even though hes really not. She has a song on repeat that reminds her of him, and feels as though she can hear his heartbeat.

This might not be right, but its how i see the song so, ya.

    General CommentThis song is amazing.
It reminds me of a relationship that has a few problems but the love (or other things) are keeping you from seeing the negative things. I also think it could be about having a lot of similarities with someone.

General CommentYeah, I love this song too. To me it sounds like Anna's paying tribute to her musical heroes that inspired her. Their songs get stuck 'in her head' and their lyrics keep her strong even when she's down and lonely. She says that if they ever meet (on the other side of the stereo, meaning in person and not just through song) she won't mention how well she identifies with their lyrics. I just took this from a literal interpretation of the lyrics, but there could be some underlying love aspect to the song that I haven't picked up.

General CommentI think it's about someone she loves and once had a relationship with. And thuogh she doesn't see them anymore, she knows they hear her songs and she knows they think the same things she does. And this guy is so important to her that he's become the voice in her head, encouraging her to go on. And the make believe is that someday they'll be together again.

Or, another theory that I have is that the person she's talking about is a guy that she's made up in her head. She's convinced herself that somewhere out there is a guy waiting for her. You know, like a soul mate.

General CommentI think this song's meaning is pretty straight forward

She's saying that when she's around her lover she thinks he's a God and whatever she wants him to be in her head. Yet, she sometimes doubts that he is really what she makes him out to be "in her head".

She's making up a this wonderful person in her head that she's with, however she's beginning to see that maybe he's not a great guy. She's saying she doesn't want to be fool hearted and such. But she's convincing herself that this guy is great. Denial, basically.

    P.S. These lyrics are faulty.

General CommentI think this song is about how you can not really know someone that well but still fall in love with the version of this person you made up in your head. Maybe this sounds kind of nuts to all of you, but I do it all the time. I only realise that I love this product of my imagination later, and then I start to "wonder if truly he is nearly as beautiful as I believe" and think that "I don't want to be fool-hearted".

General CommentI think it's not about any specific person, just she's lonely, and when she's alone at night, she has these fairy tale dreams that she holds onto. She doesn't want to admit to herself how truely alone she is, I think the song is directed to her fairy tales.
