Through muffled screams and swollen eyes.
From loss and pills and alibis.
I always find my romance in the emergency room.
I remind you of everything you hate.
And your remind me, I'm the one to blame.

I fight with myself to get you out of my head
But I'm hangin' off of every word you said.
I fight with myself to get you out of my head
But I'm hangin' off of every word you said.

Forced heartbeat and broken mirrors.
Flaws and faults are held so dear.
My reflection makes me sick.
The pain we feel is nothing new.
Prescription drugs and photographs.
Love, loneliness and nervous laughs.
What you call "misery through anxious eyes" is something I can see.

I fight with myself to get you out of my head
But I'm hangin' off of every word you said.
I fight with myself to get you out of my head
And I'm screamin' loud enough to wake the dead.

I fight with myself to get you out of my head
But I'm hangin' off of every word you said.
I fight with myself to get you out of my head
But I'm hangin' off of every word you said.

i can't believe more people haven't commented on this song! jamisonparker is an awesome band! this song is great, i think it's about a guy that knows that the breakup is his fault, and he's trying to get over it but it's hard.

JamisonParker reminds me of Dashboard Confessional. Which isn't such a bad thing since Dashboard Confessional is fucking awesome. o_o The meaning is obviously some guy trying to get over his girlfriend but he's still remembering every word she said. "What you call "misery through anxious eyes" That probably means he's still anxious to talk to her but there will always be a certain misery in his eyes too. Hah.. that's what I think. Toodles.

Im pretty sure its about him trying to get over his girlfriend aswell.

"Through muffled screams and swollen eyes. From loss and pills and alibis. I always find my romance in the emergency room."

they probably met in a hospital, frankly i dont see how its that romantic, but anyways.

"I remind you of everything you hate. And your remind me, i'm the one to blame"

He probably did something wrong but regrets it now. She realises now that because of that thing she hates him and he knows hes the one to blame for it.

"I fight with myself to get you out of my head But i'm hangin' off of every word you said."

thats pretty straight forward. He loves her and cant stop thinking about her, but wants to leave her behind and move on but cant. He keeps thinking of all the things she said to him.

    "Forced heartbeat and broken mirrors."

They probably forced on the relationship too fast or something.

"Flaws and faults are held so dear. My reflection makes me sick."

Again with his faults and flaws the thing he did wrong and now looking at himself reminds him of that.

"The pain we feel is nothing new."

"The pain we feel is nothing new."

Maybe its not the first time theyve failed the relationship. so to them theyve felt this before.

    "Prescription drugs and photographs."

maybe he is taking some sort of drug to foprget or help him forget or something. Hes looking at old photographs of them.

    "Love, loneliness and nervous laughs."

the beggining of the relationship was like this. they loved eachother and they felt lonley wothout eachother. and nervous laughs well every new couple has those.

"What you call "misery through anxious eyes" is something i can see."

not too sure about this line maybe she once told him something like that. and now hes miserable, and anxious to see her.

Well I dunno. thats was a quick guess. sorta

It's not that black and white. The emergency room is not a place physically but a place in his heart. You go to the emergency room in times of crisis. He always finds romance when he is about to fall apart. Nothing is stable. It's all about the instability that he finds romance at.

oookay, here's my breakdown of this amazing song:

"Through muffled screams and swollen eyes. From loss and pills and alibis. I always find my romance in the emergency room." ^obviously talking about a fight, in a past tense. once more this guy find his heart in a state of distress, in a metaphorical "Emergency Room."

"I remind you of everything you hate. And your remind me, i'm the one to blame." ^still talking about the fight, whatever it is, he knows it's his fault.

"I fight with myself to get you out of my head But i'm hangin' off of every word you said." ^obvious meaning here. he loves her, but knows that nothing's bringing her back. or perhaps he is leaving her because he doesn't want to hurt her anymore. imagine a guy being torn between memories of something great and knowing that he has to end/leave it behind.

"Forced heartbeat and broken mirrors. Flaws and faults are held so dear. My reflection makes me sick. The pain we feel is nothing new." ^going on along the same theme. the singer has been in this situation before, and every time he goes through this, he feels like he's seen it all happen before. this time is a reflection, different, but at the same time the exact same, as all the times before.

"Prescription drugs and photographs. Love, loneliness and nervous laughs. ^drugs in this case, by context of his other songs, probably refers to anti-depressants. if i recall correctly, both of the band members were on antideps for a while. anyway, taking the pills, he reviews all the photographs he shared with this girl, reminding him of all the great times they had

"What you call "misery through anxious eyes" is something i can see." ^first off, "misery through anxious eyes" describes a situation in which a person feeling pashionate for another, stares at them, so to speak. perhaps this girl has told him about how she looked at him in such a manner before they went out, but now it's his turn, after they broke up, to feel "misery through anxious eyes" directed back at her.

that's my $0.02. this band is amazing, broke my heart when they broke up (the band, not the guy and the girl haha). check out their follow up projects, some good stuff on those too. cheers.

i think the emergency room is what he calls the point when hes so degected and broken down. so when he says he always finds love there it means that when hes the worst off he can find someone to love. hes not only emotionally wounded but hes self hatred also has left him pretty beaten up. the girl that he is in love with doesnt want him anymore and he tries to get rid of the thoughts of her but all of the things that happened in the past and the pictures arent allowing him to. i think the line " love lonelyness and nervous laughs" is refering to how he handles her

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

No Surprises
Radiohead
Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
