"Self-Conclusion" as written by and Nicholas Edward/beck Thomas....
Fade in, start the scene
Enter beautiful girl
But things are not what they seem
As we stand at the edge of the world

"Excuse me, sir,
But I have plans to die tonight
Oh, and you are directly in my way
And I bet you're gonna say it's not right"
My reply:
"Excuse me, miss
But do you have the slightest clue
Of exactly what you just said to me
And exactly who you're talking to?"

She said, "I don't care, you don't even know me"
I said, "I know but I'd like to change that soon, hopefully"
Yeah, we all flirt with the tiniest notion
Of self conclusion in one simplified motion
You see the trick is that you're never supposed to act on it
No matter how unbearable this misery gets

"You make it sound so easy to be alive
But tell me, how am I supposed to seize this day
When everything inside of me has died?"
My reply:
"Trust me, girl
I know your legs are pleading to leap
But I offer you this easy choice-
Instead of dying, living with me"

She said, "Are you crazy? You don't even know me."
I said, "I know, but I'd like to change that soon hopefully"
Yeah, we all flirt with the tiniest notion
Of self conclusion in one simplified motion
You see the trick is that you're never supposed to act on it
No matter how unbearable this misery gets

I would be lying if I said that things would never get rough
And all this cliche motivation, it could never be enough
I could stand here all night trying to convince you
But what good would that do?
My offer stands, and you must choose

"All right, you win, but I only give you one night
To prove yourself to be better than my atttempt at flight
I swear to god if you hurt me I will leap
I will toss myself from these very cliffs
And you'll never see it coming"
"Settle, precious, I know what you're going through
Just ten minutes before you got here I was gonna jump too"

Yeah we all flirt with the tiniest notion
Of self conclusion in one simplified motion
You see the trick is that you're never supposed to act on it
No matter how unbearable this misery gets

General CommentThis song holds so much meaning than has been recognized here. I love the "Ten minutes before you got here..." as well, bu everyone seems to have failed to see that he didnt jump. He was contemplating it. Had she not shown up, he would not have jumped, not that time anyway. But he knes the pain and knew that if there was anyone able to take away her pain, it was he.

That sentiment speaks louddly to me, it also makes me so afraid. I always become drawn to those people who have been wronged, those people who need someone to protect them. Those people who need some to save them from the edge. I fall for these people, and it makes me fear the possibility that I care too much. These Relationships never end up working out. The only think i can hope while we part is that the love id given, has been enough to save them from this edge. I could sit here and ramble on forever about the power this song hold to me, how beautiful it is, but few people if anyone will probably even read this comment as is.

General Commentthat would definately be a great idea! ;)
    the song explains itself.
I wished I would be able to be a guy coming out of nowhere to a girl and be her escape!
I love how the spill canvas always tell little stories like THE TIDE. *sigh*

General CommentI agree TRAGICxROMANCE, I was in shock when I heard those lines, I had to rewind it a few times because I thought I misheard. Like you guys said, this is the biggest sign of fate if you ask me. These 2 were about to take their lives, but they are stopped by one another - if thats not the biggest sign of destiny then I dont know what is.

I dont know about you guys, but TSC gives me the chills every time I listen to them, Nick composes the most powerful lyrics with the most orchestraic melodies, I dont know how he does it but he gets to me every time.
