Wish I could be your lover, be your true lover
One day to be discovered lying next to you
But I know my lack of grace continues to turn you off
And this could be my fate here, never to be touched
Wish I could be

I can feel it in the morning
Nothing going on tonight
I get the feeling that my love for you's not right
I can't help thinking that you might not like my style
Watching television, let me chew on you awhile

Love me tonight
Then, face down, love me tonight

What if my fortune turns, will I turn away?
The battle of the heart we wage
The quiet game we play
What if it's me unequal, I'm the one who's not
Excited, forever
Withered in your touch
I'd miss you way too much

But you'd feel it in the morning
Nothing going on tonight
You'd get the feeling that my love for you's not right
Always turning, but never turn away
I'll try to be patient, tell me everything's ok

... Love me tonight

    General CommentGreat song.

    A few corrections:

"Wish I could be your lover, be your true lover"
    should be:
"Wish I could be your lover, be your lover true"

    "Love me tonight
Then, face down, love me tonight"
    Should be:
"Then, face down, so face down,
Love me tonight, love me tonight"

and at near the end "You'd get the feeling that my love for you's not right"
    should be
"You'd get the feeling that your love for me's not right"

What does this mean? I think he's airing the worry that he really digs this chick, but he might have read it wrong and he won't be thrilled to be with her once he's got her ("withered in your touch"). So what's with "I'd miss you way too much?" I am thinking he means in this hypothetical future where he's sick of her he'd miss the person he knows now way too much. Any thoughts?

on a side note, these lyrics are pretty wrong (as the above poster mentioned)
