"You're Gorgeous" as written by and Steven Michael Jones....
Y-O-U-R-E G-O-R-G-E-O-U-S

Remember that tanktop you bought me
You wrote "You're gorgeous" on it
You took me to your rented motor car
And filmed me on the bonnet

You got me to hitch my knees up
And pulled my legs apart
You took an instamatic camera
And pulled my sleeves around my heart

Because you're gorgeous, I'd do anything for you
Because you're gorgeous, I know you'll get me through

You said my clothes were sexy
You tore away my shirt
You rubbed an ice-cube on my chest
Snapped me 'til it hurt

Because you're gorgeous, I'd do anything for you
Because you're gorgeous, our love will see us through

Ba, ba, ba, ba, ba, ba, ba, ba, ba
Bababa, bababa, bababa, bababa, bababa, bababa, bababa, bababa, bababa, haha

You said I wasn't cheap
You paid me twenty pounds
You promised to put me in a magazine
On every table, in every lounge

Because you're gorgeous, I'd do anything for you
Because you're gorgeous, I know you'll get me through

Because you're gorgeous, I'd do anything for you
Because you're gorgeous, I know you'll get me, know you'll get me through
Know you'll get me through, know you'll get me through
Know you'll get me through, know you'll get me through
Know you'll get me through, know you'll get me through
Know you'll get me, know you'll get me through
I know you'll get me, know you'll get me, know you'll get me through

Because you're gorgeous, I'd do anything for you
Because you're gorgeous, I know you'll get me through
I know you'll get me, know you'll get me, I know you'll get me through

General CommentThis is what I just read somewhere:

"The catchy chorus was the thing that tricked fans of this song. People in love began singing it to their beaus and it even featured in some couples’ weddings as they danced to the throes of “Because you’re gorgeous — I’d do anything for you.” What Stephen Jones was actually talking about in this tune, was an aspiring model tricked into a soft-porn photo shoot by a charming photographer."

    My OpinionThe chorus is awesome.

A lot of people, including me, just know the chorus.
I think the chorus in isolation is fine and any chic would find it complimentary. In fact, in the past, I may have said "Because you're gorgeous, I'd do anything for you" as a compliment and a heartfelt sentiment to a beau. But, now that I have read the rest of the lyrics, I wish that I had not said this.

If I said this to you, the only bit I meant was "Because you're gorgeous, I'd do anything for you"and nothing more than that.

    Sorry beau!

General CommentAh, it's a lovely song.
The subject matter is unpleasant, perhaps, but hey.

As I see it, it's a two-voice song. The chorus-voice (you're gorgeous!, etc) flattered and lied to the verse-voice into starting a relationship, andhaving some naked photos taken.
Then the chorus-voice left, 'cause they were an evil bitch :-).

General CommentI feel violated when I listen to this song.
But I don't know weather its to do with the inside joke I have with my friends about it, or because its just plain disturbing.
Violated. Violated. (repeated for emphasis :P)

General CommentSeems to me it's told through the eyes of a young girl (although obviously sung by a guy)

If you imagine it as a woman its clear what it's about

Someone thinking that they're being loved but they're too naive to see they're being used.

    I love this song though

    Good old 90's (y)

General Commenthaha why does it have to be a young girl?

to me, it sounds quite plausible for it to be a gay song

General CommentGay? Why cant the 'photographer' be a woman? That would be so much more twisted.
