I never knew I was close to you
You seemed so dead inside
I kept trying just to see it through
Just to be with you
Just to take the ride
Promise me that you’ll do your best
It’s all on you
You’re all that’s left
I never knew what I meant to you
I guess that’s no surprise

Four in the morning
And I got that feeling
Clock’s ticking but my heart’s not beating
Eyes open and I’m staring at the ceiling
Tell me that you’re leaving
Give me something to believe in
Don’t let me down

I never left I just held my breath
I kept in all inside
I never guessed if you knew the rest
There was nothing much
Written in your eyes
Promise me that you’ll let it go
It’s all I’ve got
I need to know
I never knew what to make of you
I guess that’s no surprise

Four in the morning
And I got that feeling
Clock’s ticking but my heart’s not beating

Four in the morning
And I got that feeling
Clock’s ticking but my heart’s not beating
Eyes open and I’m staring at the ceiling
Tell me that you’re leaving
Give me something to believe in
Don’t let me down

General CommentIt's about a person (we'll say she's a girl) who was with a guy, when the guy that she likes who has been emotionally distant from her sees them. The guy that she likes then proceeds to flip out on her & she's surprised that he cares because to her, he seems dead in the inside. The guy then proceeds to ponder about their relationship. This means that the ball is in his court now & she realized that no matter how much she loves the guy, she just wants the guy to let her go, because she cant handle his emotional unstability (that is so not a word) anymore.
