"The Truth" as written by Wesley Louden Borland, William Frederick Durst, Samuel Robert Rivers and Sam Siegler....
You can't sleep, you're restless
and slightly obsessed with falling too deep
and malfunction, you're a virus
who's intention is fucking up something
You're a crater
on the face of a problem much greater
It's the violence, or lack thereof control
Body and soul, digging a hole
Is the blood stainless?
Enjoy the pain with accepting your grief
Are you finished?
Dumb fucking question, don't let yourself fall asleep
Ressurect the intention
Once your vision is now mass-produced,
Imagine the insults a blessing
imagine accepting the truth

Imagine accepting the truth
Imagine accepting the truth
imagine accepting the truth
Just imagine accepting the truth
Imagine accepting the truth

The pendulum swinging
Hypnosis has taken control, now you linger
on a shadow of a doubt
Have you really figured what you're all about?
Don't trust your instincts
Just open the chamber where you keep those darkest regrets
All the things you've done wrong
Rebellious at heart all along
Is your leader a voice?
Somehow you replaced all your game with a debt
Now the payback's a bitch
Why owe your life to a bitch?
Absolutely pathetic
and regret it when told you are made of mistakes
Imagine the insults a blessing
imagine accepting the truth

Imagine accepting the truth
Imagine accepting the truth
imagine accepting the truth
imagine accepting the truth
Imagine accepting the truth

Now speak to your leader!
Now speak to your leader!

Your father who art in heaven
Hallowed be thy name, deliver us from evil, deliver us from evil
Your father who art in heaven
Hallowed be thy name, deliver us from evil, deliver us from evil
Our father who art in heaven
Hallowed be thy name, deliver me from evil, deliver me from evil
Our father who art in heaven
Hallowed be thy name, deliver me from evil, deliver me from evil

imagine accepting the truth
Imagine accepting the truth
Imagine accepting the truth
imagine accepting the truth
imagine accepting the truth
Imagine accepting the truth

General CommentThe people that hate Limp Bizkit hates them because they don't even know about the greatest songs they did, they just think about "rolling" or "my generation" which were hits created to appeal the mainstream, therefore the lyrics were kinda poor. But Limp Bizkit is way more than that, "build a bridge", "lean on me", "counterfeit", "underneath the gun", "the surrender", "let me down", just to name a few, listen to those lyrics and tell me LB sucks, but listen to them with a critic ear, not with the idea that its going to suck.

Who cares if they were used to be labeled as "cool"? Who cares if their fan base were 14 year old kids?
Who cares is some of their lyrics used to have no sense? I don't, I'm a loyal fan, I know they're far from being the best (musically speaking) but they've inspired me through the years and they keep inspiring me even nowadays. And nowadays I'm no longer that 14 year old boy, in fact I listen to bands that noone can argue they're not terrific (metallica, sonata arctica, blind guardian, stratovarius) and yet, I still love Limp Bizkit. Why? I don't know, I may be a "dumb limp bizkit fan". So be it.

If they're able to inspire one person, just one person, then that means all their work wass worth it. That's the goal of an artist after all, right? Because if thats not an artist then what is it? A man prodigy who's able to create the greatest rythms, tunes and lyrics a common man could never create? OK, that could be an artist. But what about someone who's able to create a really deep connection between his creation and a person, even if its just one single person.

So go ahead, say how much Limp Bizkit sucks and how Fred Durst is shit, you dont have to like it, but just don't find too weird the idea of someone still liking Limp Bizkit. Because what's really the difference between the best song from The Beatles and the worst song from Ashlee Simpson if they can both have the power to create the same deep feeling on different persons? We're not the ones to decide which music is good or bad, but to decide what's good for us.

    Just think about it.

My InterpretationThis is about having a past you are ashamed of, and trying to convince yourself it never happened. You keep asking yourself to face the truth but end up praying that nobody will find out.

General CommentLimp Bizkit thinks they're RATM and Durst thinks he is Zack de la Rocha, which is good, really fucking good. This is the best they have been in years. Haven't had time to look for the meaning but I guess it's about all the lies that are built up that some people refuse to see through. Or perhaps religions and wars based on them.

General CommentI think this song is more political than general person to person truth....if tht makes sense. If you look at the rest of the album songs like The propaganda also aid this. it seems to say to me that 'the state' is lying to its people. like there are many cover ups in western society. anyone agree that this is about political figures lying??
