Baby, I can't figure it out
Your kisses taste like honey
Sweet lies don't gimme no rise
Oh, for what you're trying to do

Livin' on your cheatin'
And the pain grows inside me
It's enough to leave me crying in the rain
Love you forever but you're driving me insane
And I'm hanging on
Oh, oh, oh, oh

I'll win, I'll never give in
Our love has got the power
Too many lovers in one lifetime
Ain't good for you
You treat me like a vision in the night
Someone there to stand behind you
When your world ain't working right
I ain't no vision, I am the girl
Who loves you inside and out
Backwards and forwards with my heart hanging out
I love no other way
What are we gonna do if we lose that fire

Wrap myself up and take me home again
Too many heartaches in my lifetime ain't good for me
I figure it's the love that keeps you warm
Let this moment be forever
We won't ever feel the storm

I ain't no vision, I am the girl
Who loves you inside and out
Backwards and forwards with my heart hanging out
I love no other way
What are we gonna do if we lose that fire

Don't try to tell me that it's over
I can't hear a word I can't hear a line
No girl could love you more
And that's what I'm cryin' for
You can't change the way I feel inside

You're the reason for my laughter and my sorrow
Blow out the candle I will burn again tomorrow
No man on earth can stand between my love and I
And no matter how you hurt me, I will love you till I die

I ain't no vision, I am the girl
Who loves you inside and out
Backwards and forwards with my heart hanging out
I love no other way
What are we gonna do if we lose that fire

Loves you inside and out
Backwards and forwards with my heart hanging out
I love no other way
What are we gonna do if we lose that fire

Inside and out
Inside and out
Inside and out
Inside and out

Inside and out

Inside and out

It's about a girl who's totally in love with a guy who doesn't feel the same way about her--perhaps only sees her as a very close friend.

"I'll win, I'll never give in Our love has got the power Too many lovers in one lifetime Ain't good for you" The guy is interested in multiple other girls, has dated multiple other girls, but is not currently dating our girl. She responds by saying it doesn't matter who else you see, I'll keep on loving you until you love me back.

"You treat me like a vision in the night Someone there to stand behind you When your world ain't working right" This girl is obviously a really close friend to the guy--he goes to her when his world is screwed up and he needs someone who understands him, someone who can and will help him out. But as a result he doesn't see her as a love interest but as a support system.

"I ain't no vision, I am the girl who loves you inside and out Backwards and forwards with my heart hanging out I love no other way" So she explains to him that she isn't some sort of distant wise man on the mountain to only be consulted, but a girl to be loved. Moreover, she loves him unconditionally, even when it costs her (her loving him makes her vulnerable--her heart's hanging out).

"What are we gonna do if we lose that fire" Not sure about this one--maybe she's wondering what their relationship would be like if she stopped loving him so much?

Great song, totally on target for this situation.

I think it's about a girl who loves a guy who lies and cheats, but she loves him anyway. He breaks her heart, and she knows it, but she loves him anyway, and she can't quite figure out why... I really like it. I like her voice, too.

its not necessarily about a girl getting cheated on, its more like a hurt girl just telling a guy nobody will love him like she does/will regardless of what he has done to her.

    this song hits the spot.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,
