"Longer" as written by and Dan Fogelberg....
Everyone comes down on me
When I throw it out at the world
Coming out trapped when I'm thinking I
Don't really wanna know what's going down

Everyone comes down on my head
Everyone will go away 'til the jokes to bed
Every lie I know, every line I speak
I can't convince you

I'm moving too fast and you're non-committal
I don't need a lot but I need a little
Maybe it's better you stay
We hurt each other

(Chorus)
And I don't know why I came here tonight
Listening to you tell me what I didn't do right
And I don't think that I can listen to this shit much longer
I don't know what I came up here to say
Say you'll never love me then I'll maybe go away
And I don't wanna leave but I can't stay much longer

Everyone comes down on me
When I struggle with my own defense
Get me think I'm on track
When I'm thinking I don't really wanna know
What I'm up against

Everyone comes down on my head
Everyone will go away 'til the jokes to bed
Every lie I know, every line I speak
I can't convince you

I'm moving too fast and you're non-committal
I don't need a lot but I need a little
Maybe it's better you stay
Or maybe you don't need another thing from me

(Chorus)

I'm moving too fast and you're non-committal
I don't need a lot but I need a little
Maybe it's better you stay
We hurt each other

(Chorus x 2)

General CommentSuch a great song! I can't even begin to say how many times I have felt this way in my life. This is a straight forward song about how a guy is sick of putting up with a girl's shit and is tired of listening to it. He does everything he can, but concludes that it's better he blames himself as well for what went wrong.
