You had to live in that house that's always on the way
You had to live on that street I go by everyday
You had to drive that car that everybody drives
I see them all the time

Had to have those friends that go to ever show
Had to be such a catch that everybody knows
Had to love that stupid band that sold a million nine
I hear them all the time

Can't get away from you

Had to be such a saint perfect to a T
Had to love everyone well, everyone but me
Had to buy me that shirt I don't feel like it's mine
But I wear it all the time

I tried to drown it in drink, it didn't do no good
I tried to think like you think as if I ever could
I tried to stop all these dreams I have them all the time
They're the only thing that's mine

You placed your bet
You wanted more
You bit your tongue
You're out the door

General Commentthis is probably my favorite LC song, because it captures this mind set/situation so well... trying to get over someone that's there every time you turn around, whether it's physically them or just a reminder of them... i love it. the song, not the situation. the situation sucks, haha.

General Commenthaha, supposedly when they made the music video for this, they were in downtown Buffalo, NY during rush hour in the middle of the streets. Needless to say, I heard they all almost got run over at least 5 times each...dunno if it's true, but tha'ts what I heard...

General Commenti guess the meaning's pretty obvious....and i like it so much because everyone can relate to the situation but its not too cliche
