"Smashed" as written by and Kevin James Labrie Matthew James Guillory....
I lay awake
I'm feeling weak
Not sure I can go on
Please take me far
There's nothing I can give
All I had is gone

Buildings fell
Stealing people's dreams
A way of life
Guess we don't fit
Fit their plans

Familiar streets
Familiar sites
Places where friends meet

It's been a while
So much has changed since then
The future seems so bleak

Nothing stands
All's been lost
They silence our despair

Keep your cool
World is watching you
Act as though you care

Buildings fell
Stealing people's dreams
A way of life
Guess we don't fit
Fit their plan

Watched so many of my
Loved ones fall today
It's like I'm standing here
With all of my past erased
The man I have become
Is not walking away
It is the memories
That makes the man you see

Buildings fell
Stealing people's dreams
A way of life
Guess we don't fit
Fit the plan

Our buildings burn
Can't comprehend
The loss surrounding me
And does it end
When no one's left to bleed

General CommentThis song is probably about the September 11th attacks. The "Guess we don't fit their plans" parts most likely refers to the terrorists' plans of a perfect world or whatever it is those idiots believe in. Beautiful song.

General CommentDisagree. It sounds like he is singing about the atroticies commited in countries like Russia, Iraq and Afghanistan. Great tune

General CommentMost certainly a 911 song. No idea how you could think it could NOT be. Its painfully obvious.

    General CommentFrom James:
This song is about oppression within certain countries or governments. It has absolutely nothing to do with 9/11.

    Think of Chechnya and Rwanda.

General CommentNickBush24, you happen to be who I'm thinking of from GameFAQs?

    Justintime, it's not about 911...

General Commentwhoamg, it's NickBush24! The guy with all the Gamefaqs accounts! I didn't know you liked metal. Awesome.

Anyway, this might be a 9/11 song, but LaBrie is a canadian so he probably isn't as affected as Portnoy or Petrucci from DT would be.

General Commentits about how hate seems to be overtaking good in the world. The part "Familiar streets
    Familiar sites
    Places where friends meet

    It's been a while
So much has changed since then
The future seems so bleak" pretty much backs that analysis up.
