"Love Your Way" as written by Bernard Joseph Fanning, Darren Stuart Middleton, John Andrew Collins, Ian David Haug and Jonathan Robert Coghill....
I got to keep moving to stay 'cause I'm freezing in this room
And if I prove no good here I'll skip to where I should
It's only an imaginary vigil we keep
You salvage what you need I'll take the love you leave

I love your way
I can't explain
What made me change

I'm wading in deeper ever deeper as I go
I drown the whole idea as I drift away from you
It's only an imaginary vigil we keep
You salvage what you need I'll take the love you leave

I love your way
I can't explain
what made me change
I love your way

And as the memory gathers dust, buried in its crust
Are the remains of what we've done and the seed of what we've just begun
The tapping of the rain beats a corrugated drum
And the city glows well it pulses on 1(to the city hum)/2(Until the day is done)
(x2)

I love your way
I can't explain
what made me change

My InterpretationOne of my favorite Powderfinger songs musically - very catchy with great riffs.

The song is clearly about a couple who have fallen out of love but remain together. The singer still respects the girl and can't put his finger on why they drifted apart, but there is no desire on either side to reignite the love.

The remainder is a little harder to interpret - they remain together nonetheless, and in a sense each 'exploit' the other ("you salvage what you need, I'll take the love you leave"), but with little clue as to why - money, status, pride? Or just the fear of loneliness?

Whatever the reason, the final lines suggest a clear and willing transition - "what we've just begun". They are not planning to split up, on the contrary they are moving to a new loveless stage of their relationship with mutual acceptance.

General Commentgorgeous song! love it to bits... i like the verses much more than the chorus in the case of this song. The Finger do some killer choruses, though.
