"Hallucinating Elvis" as written by and Simon Le Bon Warren Cuccurullo....
I was hallucinating
I was hallucinating
I was hallucinating Elvis Hawaii to Las Vegas
Special treatment all the way

Hallucinating Elvis
Issing eighteen hours
Losing oxygen to the brain

Lying on the floor
There's a limit,
How much more
I can take rhinestone inside my shoe,
Cause I'm turning into you

Now I was hallucinating
I was hallucinating I was hallucinating
Elvis
I was hallucinating
I was hallucinating I was hallucinating
Elvis

FBI are tapping the king's phone
'74 he's trapped in his home
Hidden cameras,
Wo way mirror walls
Walkie-talkie kung-fu,
Then the president calls

I was hallucinating Elvis
Hawaii to Las Vegas
Special treatment all the way

Hallucinating Elvis
Missing eighteen hours
Losing oxygen to the brain

Who ever has to know
Tune in to my show
What you see ain't what you get
Shootin' movies in the TV set

Elvis Elvis Elvis Elvis Elvis Elvis Elvis Elvis

I was hallucinating Elvis
Hawaii to Las Vegas
Special treatment all the way
Hallucinating Elvis
Missing eighteen hours
Losing oxygen to the brain

I was hallucinating Elvis
Hawaii to Las Vegas
Special treatment all the way
Hallucinating Elvis
Missing eighteen hours
Losing oxygen to the brain

I was hallucinating
I was hallucinating
I was hallucinating
Elvis I was hallucinating
I was hallucinating I was hallucinating
Elvis Elvis Elvis Elvis
Elvis Elvis Elvis Elvis

Hallucinating (to my brain)
Hallucinating (to my brain)
Hallucinating (to my brain)
Hallucinating (to my brain)
Hallucinating (to my brain)
Hallucinating (to my brain)
Hallucinating (to my brain)
Hallucinating (to my brain)

General CommentOk, Simon has been told by many people both in his past & presnt that he looks too much like Elvis "The Pelvis" Presley. This is his frustrations coming out in this song. It's obvious that He does Not want to be compared to the Fat Elvis, (I've read a few articles where Simon is very sensitive about this.) but, I still think that Not everyone compares Simon to the Fat, Bloated Elvis, I Know I don't....& I actually think Simon looks more like Elvis during his younger years when he was just starting out. Please, for Simon sake, If you ever do get the chance to actually Meet Simon Le Bon in person, & say you mentionjust how much he looks like Elvis, Please make sure to tell him that he looks like the Younger Elvis that we all see on TV, & that Simon does Not look like Elvis before he died! Thankyou! :D

    General CommentRight again Canada.
And if you do happen to meet Simon, don't tell him he looks like Elvis or he's likely to give you an extremely withering look and make a swift exit.
And that's if he's in a good mood.

The song was inspired by Simon and a suit he wore for the Perfect Day video. The suit was made out of a very thick (and practically inflexible) material, which made Mr Le Bon walk/move in a rather exaggerated manner - kind of like Elvis' trademark dancing style.

According to legend, Simon was heard to exclaim, "hey man, I'm hallucinatin' Elvis", and a song title was born,
The song was written by Nick and Warren at a time when Simon was in the midst of his phase of havin complete writer's block.
