"Lyla" as written by and Noel Gallagher....
Calling all the stars to fall
And catch the silver sunlight in your hands
Call for me to set me free
Lift me up and take me where I stand

She believes in everything
And everyone and you and yours and mine
I waited for a thousand years
For you to come and blow me off my mind

Hey Lyla
The stars about to fall
So what you say Lyla
The world around us makes me feel so
Small Lyla
If you can't hear me call
Then I can't say Lyla
Heaven help you catch me if I fall

She's the queen of all I've seen
And every song and city far and near
Heaven help my mademoiselle
She rings the bell for all the world to hear

Hey Lyla
The stars about to fall
So what you say Lyla
The world around us makes me feel so
Small Lyla
If you can't hear me call
Then I can't say Lyla
Heaven help you catch me if I fall

Hey Lyla
The stars about to fall
So what you say Lyla
The world around us makes me feel so
Small Lyla
If you can't hear me call
Then I can't say Lyla
Heaven help you catch me if I fall

Hey Lyla
Hey Lyla
Hey Lyla
Hey Lyla

General CommentI've noticed that most of the compliments and the criticisms of this songs are the same observation.
People who don't like it say it "sounds the same as every Oasis song".
People who like it say it's "a classic Oasis song".
You're all saying the same thing, in different ways. I'm pretty sure it boils down to:
People who like Oasis like this song.
    People who don't like Oasis...don't.

General Commentif you think its dissappointing your a fucking moron. in this song liams voice is clear, almost reminds back to the definitly maybe days. i cant wait for the new album to come out may 30th. with a rockin track like this, of course DBTT will be one of thier better albums.

General Commenti think this is a great song. it took me a few listens before i began to appreciate it but its a solid, decent song. i dont think its a classic but it must be hard to write an album full of live forevers. i love the chorus. the "heeeeyyyyy lyla" bits are quality - a great hook!

General CommentSeems to be a simple kind of love song. "The star's about to fall" perhaps hinting at the end of the Oasis legacy.

General CommentAmazing song. One listen and you're singing it the rest of the day. Turn it up loud though, it sounds much better that way!

So fresh, the album will be mega.

General CommentQuality, can't wait for the album, there were a few songs on DM that dont match up to this, and although Noel tends to talk shite pre-album release, he says this isnt even the best song on the album and if thats the case weve got something to look forward to.
Very catchy and great to hear Liam's vocals after the performance he turned in at Glasto last year.
Ive waited for a thousand yeeeeeaaaaarrs :D

General Commenti didnt think this song was that good

"a classic oasis song"? i dont think so.

Sounds like a Heathen Chemistry song (which isnt very good...) I'm looking forward to see how the album will be like, but im not getting my hopes high for another "Definately Maybe" quality cd...

i just wish Oasis would try to change their style a lil...like radiohead from ok computer to kid a

General Commenti don't care what anyone thinks. this is hinting at greatness. i think the new album could rival morning glory. call me farfetched, but that's what i'm thinkin'.
