She used to be a fragile baby in a Golden place
But now it seems her acid visions have come and changed
That face she says
I'm hallucinating
Queen in my pictures
She's drawing demon clusters on her stucco walls
And hanging all her clothing from her mothers ceiling
I'm hallucinating
Queen in my pictures
And all the handsome fellas used to want to hold her hand
But now she's finding it hard to find a loving man
I'm hallucinating
Queen in my pictures
I met her recently upon a swollen Nile
She spoke to me with [?] disconnected rhyme now
I am hallucinating
Queen in my pictures

i dont necessarily interpret them the same way as you, but to go along with yours...maybe "i'm hallucinating" means, he feels like he's hallicinatiing because she has changed so mcuh?

who knows...these songs are all great, and make you think about it when you try and decifer them

really? is it well known? ive never heard anywhere about them using acid, i just figured it could be a possibility

i did hear an interview where they said that they have never recorded or played live under the influence, but yeah probably when they're kicking back.

"I'd say acid was the main catalyst for our music getting weirder and weirder," says Weitz.

theyve said in plenty interviews that theyve done it before and learned from it

of course panda bear didnt wanna smoke cuz he said he didnt wanna be a vegetable on stage so maybe theres a little truth to that

I always thought the lyric was "now she can't seem to find an honest man."

This song is awesome. I love the vocal harmonies and the layers of guitars. I think this song comes from a really centered place lyrically. To me, its a beautiful and broken story about a girl who has basically lost her mind and/or soul, and has become a shadow of her former self.

since this site is meant for interpreting lyrics, ill do so

this song is about a girl who used to be very popular, and everyone wanted to be with her, then she did a bit too much acid and became a bit insane and dissconnected from the world. she looks back at the way she used to be, she used to be queen, but now theres only a queen in her pictures of her before she did acid. im not sure about the last verse, maybe the girl convinced whoever is supposed to be speaking to be to do acid and now hes hallucinating?

    cool lyrics

    but why the ?????

well its well-known that animal collective does a lot of acid, so it makes sense they might write a song about it. and they do say acid

"but now it seems her acid visions have come and changed that face"

and it is the girl talking about hallucinating "she says I’m hallucinating "

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.

American Town
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran shares a short story of reconnecting with an old flame on “American Town.” The track is about a holiday Ed Sheeran spends with his countrywoman who resides in America. The two are back together after a long period apart, and get around to enjoying a bunch of fun activities while rekindling the flames of their romance.
