"Asleep" as written by John Mark Eitzel and Kathleen Burns....
You be child
Close, close your eyes and smile
I like to see you that way
I wish you would stay that way
Here I come on my bed of nails in the sky
A brand new and expensive way to brood
I like to see our city life all spread around
A cheap version of the sky on the ground
I like to see you sleeping
I like to see you that way
I wish that you would just sleep all day
Yeah, sleep all day

General CommentIt sounds like he is in love with this girl, but she's very mean and brutal as a person. Only when she's sleeping does he see a serene, calmed version of her, and he wishes he could just enjoy her as she sleeps since her awoken version is so horrible.
