Just look at the comfort that you call your home,
Just kidding yourself that you're never alone,
Well, maybe there's something, there’s one thing you shouldn't have said,
So, you better beware.
And you better get, and you better get, light in your head
And you better get, and you better get, peace in your bed.
If you wanna get, if you wanna get high…..

You're watching the movie go blistering by
Just look at the sadness, I wish I could cry,
Well, maybe there's something, there’s one thing that I should have said
Well, it better be said
Is the beckoning, is the reckoning gold in your heart,
Is beginning to, is beginning to squeeze you apart.
Don't you wanna get, don't you wanna get high?

But you're holding the world in the palm of your hand,
What you telling your children you don't understand

If you know what the meaning is, if you what the meaning is,
If you know what the meaning is, if you what the meaning is,
If you know what the meaning is, if you what the meaning is,
If you know what the meaning is, if you what the meaning is,
Meaning is, meaning is, meaning is……

Ah- you better beware,
And you better get, and you better get light in your head,
And you better get, and you better get peace in your bed;
If you wanna get, if you wanna get high

Just look at the madness that glows in your eyes,
To frighten your children will steal your disguise,

If you know what the meaning is, if you what the meaning is,
If you know what the meaning is, if you what the meaning is,
If you know what the meaning is, if you what the meaning is,
If you know what the answer is, if you what the answer is,
If you know what the answer is, if you what the answer is,
If you know what the meaning is, if you what the meaning is,
If you know what the meaning is, if you what the meaning is…
…know what the meaning is….

this is roger hodson or rick davies, probably hodson, being confused yet again about the meaning of life and attributing this to the deep intense depression he suffers from. he is speaking to someone, most likely someone who has life figured out, and eventually starts begging them for the answer to life.. "You're watching the movie go blistering by Just look at the sadness, I wish I could die" The movie could be life, since he probably feels he is watching life and not participating in it, as most people who suffer from extreme depression feel. The last half of the song basically sums up the writers confusion and self doubt. Saying their is madness in his eyes, and children see through the disguise he has created to hide and protect himself. this song is all over the place. it is a beautiful song to listen to, and until you take the time to observe the lyrics, you dont realize how out there and schizo this song really is.

man another classic by Supertramp. From what ive liked in the lyrics i always thought it was about an anti-social man who suffers from holding in so long. Even rejecting the drugs that is offered to him in the lines "Dont you wanna get, dont you wanna get high ?" because it wont help and makes matters worst. I can relate to this song. I'm a loner myself and kinda anti-social and i dont need to get high on pot to escape my problems. Because like the song, yes the record has holding my heart.

Lyric Check straight from the "Crisis, What Crisis?" songbook published in 1975:

"Just look at the sadness, I wish I could cry." "Is the beckoning, is the reckoning gold in your heart." Last verse: "If you wanna get, wanna get high." "To frighten your children will steal your disguise."

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
