"Tomorrow" as written by Mathew Kearney and Robert L. Marvin....
I hear a voice crying out from the bellies of their mommas
Hold on for today don't worry about tomorrow
Though the rains of today seem to fall with sorrow
Let me be and we'll see this life for tomorrow

I hear a cry going out in the middle of the night
Under the scatter of the stars from a voice cracked with fright
And as the tears stripe cheeks from pain running south
The taste of salt hits the corner of her mouth
Resting on tied tongues with no breath left to speak
Sick of throwing up with no bread left to eat
Tired and confused from disillusionment
Sunny days turn to grey and away he went
Ripping the hooks out your heart from the promises at dark
The words found their mark as the sheets came apart

Every spoken word broken
As he flipped you a token
Kiss on the cheek as his feet found the open door
What's in store for you he didn't question
Shook his burden to the floor to leave you guessing
About the future and what it will unfold
But you're still standing there rockin' it so bold like

I hear a voice crying out from the bellies of their mommas
Hold on for today don't worry about tomorrow
Though the rains of today seem to fall with sorrow
Let me be and we'll see this life for tomorrow

I hear a voice crying out from the bellies of their mommas
Hold on for today don't worry about tomorrow
Though the rains of today seem to fall with sorrow
Let me be and we'll see this life for tomorrow

Holding on these songs of hope
I cannot sing them without you
Holding on, holding on

You can't just point a finger and say it's alright
Make a trip downtown and put it out of sight
Because two came together so strong one night
And two wrongs don't make one right
Giving a voice to the voiceless saying it's choice less
'Cause they're priceless my princess

I feel the kicks and the churns give me a turn
And a shot at this world to fight the fight
To beat my plight and let my light shine
In this dark time with all its ways of wearing crime
And let this world drown in these ultrasounds
Hearing this heart beats speak sweet so profound
From beat down to higher ground
Where hope abounds with love that astounds
Les Miserables this ain't no miserable daughter
Calling you Cossette 'cause God will be your father

I hear a voice crying out from the bellies of their mommas
Hold on for today don't worry about tomorrow
Though the rains of today seem to fall with sorrow
Let me be and we'll see this life for tomorrow
I hear a voice crying out from the bellies of their mommas
Hold on for today don't worry about tomorrow
Though the rains of today seem to fall with sorrow
Let me be and we'll see this life for tomorrow

Holding on these songs of hope
I cannot sing them without you
Holding on, holding on

General CommentThis is a beautiful song to listen to. An excellent song of social comment: Abortion. Kearney, as a Christian would obviously feel stongly about an issue such as this. The song follows an unexpected pregnacy..not through rape, but two people who obviously liked eachother: "Because two came together so strong one night". Kearney is striving to give "a voice to the voiceless"..he is saying that chosing termination is a crime to the child (if you are interested at all in this subject, Poet, Bruce Dawe, has written several excellent poems on the issue). Kearney impliments a metaphorical situation, based on the well known Les Miserables. Here a lady has a child (Cossette..also mentioned in the lyrics) out of wedlock and is persecuted for it, yet receives salvation from her actions by her employer Jean Valjean (a man who also has a shady past). This song is a shout out to all those who have been blessed with the gift of a child, even though the context and circumstances in which it came to be were not ideal. He wants us to realise the importance of a life...and that death is not our decision to make...i suspect it can also be linked to the "god has a plan for you..plans to prosper you" verse in the bible.

General CommentI hecka didn't even realize it was about an abortion until i read the comment above lol. I got that it was about a pregnancy but i thought the guy just left her alone and pregnant but if you really pay attention to the lyrics, it's obvious it's about an abortion. I'm no where near religous but I do love Kearney's work

General CommentI can't believe more people haven't commented on this song.
All of his songs are amazing but this one has to be one of
his more powerful ones. I think you're both right, it's
clearly about abortion. Without going so deep, basically the
guy and girl hook up and he just leaves, leaving her alone
not knowing what the future will bring, but he isn't going
    to be there as he doesn't truly care for her;
    every spoken word broken
as he flipped you a token
kiss on the cheek as his feet found the open door
what's in store for you he didn't question
shook his burden to the floor to leave you guessing
about the future and what it will unfold

Kearney is obviously pro-life, based on the rest of the song.
