"Why Was I Born?" as written by Jerome Kern and Oscar Ii Hammerstein....
Spending these lonesome evenings
With nothing to do
But to live in dreams that I make up
All by myself

Dreaming that you're beside me
I picture the prettiest stories
Only to wake up
All by myself

What is the good of me by myself?

Why was I born
Why am I living
What do I get
What am I giving

Why do I want a thing
I daren't hope for
What can I hope for
I wish I knew

Why do I try
To draw you near me
Why do I do I cry
You never hear me

I'm a poor fool
But what can I do
Why was I born
To love you

I'm a poor fool
But what can I do
Why was I born
To love you

General CommentI think this is so simple, but so sad. ''Why do I want for things, I dare not hope for'' ''why do I try to draw you near me''. The feeling of yearning for someone, but wanting to protect yourself from rejection, and half not careing at all, and just wanting to suffer in loving them.

    Ahhh makes me cry! lol

General CommentThis song is very simple but holds a tremendous amount of meaning to me. I know what it's like to love and give everything of you to someone for them to just not care anymore, or sometimes ever. You know you should give up, but you feel that it's worth fighting for and you just keep hurting yourself again and again.
