"What becomes of the Broken Hearted" as written by William Henry Weatherspoon, Paul Riser and James Dean....
As I walk this land with broken dreams
I have visions of many things
But happiness is just an illusion
Filled with sadness and confusion
What becomes of the broken-hearted
Who had love that's now departed?
I know I've got to find
Some kind of peace of mind
Maybe

The roots of love grow all around
But for me they come a-tumblin' down
Every day heartaches grow a little stronger
I can't stand this pain much longer
I walk in shadowsm searching for light
Cold and alone, no comfort in sight
Hoping and praying for someone to care
Always moving and goin' nowhere
What becomes of the broken-hearted
Who had love that's now departed?
I know I've got to find
Some kind of peace of mind
Help me

I'm searching, though I don't succeed
But someone look, there's a growing need
Oh, he is lost, there's no place for beginning
All that's left is an unhappy ending
Now, becomes of the broken-hearted
Who had love that's now departed?
I know I've got to find
Some kind of peace of mind

I'll be searching everywhere
Just to find someone to care
I'll be looking everyday, I know I'm gonna find a way
Nothing's gonna stop me now
I'll find a way somehow
And I'll be searching everywhere
I know I gotta find a way
I'll be looking

General CommentThe song seems sad, but it kinda lifts you up because you listening to someone who's gone thru what you went thru.

General CommentI cannot believe barely anyone has commented on this song. It's a classic! I'm not really going through a break-up or anything. Their is just this guy that doesn't even know i exist and he likes someone else, but this song is wonderful. especially if you're having relationship problems. Listening to this song made me cry, but that's just what i needed.

General CommentIt`s a really wonderful song - some people think it is overplayed - yes, that`s true, just this day I heard it nearly 100 times, because it explaines my feelings - isn`t great?

General CommentBeautiful song beautifully sung. You don't need to feel the same way he does because the lyrics and Ruffin's voice just takes you away.

Not sure if it Ruffin's best song but it is probably my favourite.

General CommentJust heard this song for the first time yesterday on the radio. Glad I remembered the name. It's really fitting at the moment. I love this old music.

By the way I believe it's "I can't stand this pain much longer"

Lyric CorrectionIt's 'the roots of love grow all around', not 'the fruits of love'.
And it's 'all is lost' instead of 'oh, he is lost'
