Are you scared to walk through the hallways?
Are you worried that the spiders run away?
Are you petrified of being petrified?
Are we going to have to save the school again?

We've got to save Ginny Weasley from the basilisk
We've got to save the school from that unseen horror
We've got to save Ginny Weasley from the basilisk
We've got to save the school again

It's been freaking out all the kids
It even took out Miss Norris
Ate up the film in Colin's camera
and petrified our friend Hermione Granger

We've got to save Ginny Weasley from the basilisk
We've got to save the school from that unseen horror
We've got to save Ginny Weasley from the basilisk
We've got to save the school again

You can't take my best friend's sister
You can't take my best friend's sister
You can't take my best friend's sister
And get away with it

We've got to save Ginny Weasley from the basilisk
We've got to save the school from that unseen horror
We've got to save Ginny Weasley from the basilisk
We've got to save the school again

General CommentSimple... it's about the fear of terrorism in America.

"Are you scared to walk through the hallways?"

    Americans when doing normal things.

"Are you worried that the spiders run away?"

Americans are afraid that the terrorists, or "spiders", will get away.

"Are you petrified of being petrified?"

Americans are so afraid that they're afraid of being afraid.

"Are we going to have to save the school again?"

"We" is the government. A referance to Republicans' attempts to use American's fear to insert prayer back in public education.

"We've got to save Ginny Weasley from the basilisk"

"We", the government, can save your children from the
    monsters of the east.

"We've got to save the school from that unseen horror"

Let Christianity back into school, lest the threat from Muslims creeps in and destroys the country.

"It's been freaking out all the kids"

Children are afraid. They see things on the news and go, "What's happening"?

"It even took out Miss Norris"

    NO ONE is safe.

"Ate up the film in Colin's camera"

This is in referance to the government's suppression of
    accurate news coverage.

"and petrified our friend Hermione Granger"

Even those closest to you, and even the brightest, can be consumed by the mass hysteria.

General CommentLMAO!! Yes, I am a Harry Potter nerd, and yes I do LOVE Harry and the Potters. This is my favorite Harry and the Potters song. It's obviously about HP and the COS (Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets). Lmao, love this song!

"You can't take my best friend's sister"

Best friend's sister is a referance to Poland. "Best friend" is England, of course, and to Bush, Poland is like his best friend's sister.

General CommentCreative, but no. They write songs about the Harry Potter books, not about "the fear of terrorism in America". You could, as you have just done, overanalyze the lyrics to make it see like that, but really, it's just a song about the second book, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.
