How did you do this to me
How could you do this to me

I guess I'm horrible for you
I guess it's what the people do
I heard you're moving out of here
You know I'm getting out

What was the point to all of this
What was the point to our first kiss
I guess the news I heard was true
The news I heard came from you

I guess I'm horrible for you
I guess it's what the people do
I heard you're moving out of here
You know I'm getting out

I hope that things work out for you
I hope that he works out for you
I wish that we worked out for you
I know we'd never work for you

I guess I'm horrible for you
I guess it's what the people do
I heard you're moving out of here
You know I'm getting out

I hope that things work out for you
I hope that he works out for you
I wish that we worked out for you
I know we'd never work for you

I guess I'm horrible for you
I guess it's what the people do
I heard you're moving out of here
You know I'm getting out

General CommentIt's probably one of the saddest reggie songs on the cd, and probably the saddest one on the CD with Playing Dead a close second. I think what it's about is best explained by post-divorce depression. Breaking up is hard to do, divorce is even harder.

General CommentThe song is pretty straight forward in it's meaning. After a break up there is a bitterness and feelings of anger, rejection and self reflection. His initial response to these feeligns is "How could you do this to me?" which we all know we ask ourselves that question. He's also trying to rationalize this and is bitterly wishing her well with "I guess I'm horrible for you" and "I hope things work out for you/I hope that he works out for you."

As he reflets on the situation and his feelings he sees he's staying in a mental state of feeling sorry about the situation. He hears about her "moving out of here" so he takes that as she's getting on with his life and he's letting her know that he won't mull over this forever and will be" moving out".

This song holds a lot of meaning to me right now. I was caught by the soft synth and driving bass lines and then once I heard the lyrics I started toc ry. It was the embodiement of all my feelings currently with my latest love interest who led me on and then ditched me for my best friend. Being told that you're not datign material after being strung along is really hurtful but it's rationalised in the line "I guess I'm horrible for you". It hurt badly but I was all the while bitterly wishing them the best and still do. While I see them getting over my being hurt very easily I have to remind myself not to feel sorry for myself and "move out" of this state of depression.

General Comment"I guess I'm horrible for you"
this quote seems like he is saying he is horrible for her, as in a boyfriend. But I see secret meaning in it, as it seems like he thinks he would be really good for her, it's just that the girl didn't/doesn't think so. The way he says "I guess I'm horrible for you" instead of "I'm horrible for you" is like he's just agreeing with what the girl thinks, but deep down he knows he is great for her.

"I hope that things work out for you
I hope that he works out for you
I wish that we worked out for you
I know we'd never work for you"
It seems that he's just saying he wants things to work for her, but he really doesn't by the way he sings "I wish that we worked out for you" he still wishes she was still with him and that things could just work.
