"Modern Eyes" as written by Benjamin Peter Warden Cook, James Matthew Delong, Jordan Daniel Posner, Jesse Aaron Labovitz and Zachary Amster....
Drained head, the cycle is killing you
Force-fed, blindly you suffer through
Stand still so no one will notice
With blind eyes like that
Snakes just creep up your back

This is survival, our demise
This is extinction, through modern eyes

Sit back, hold your eyes open wide
Pitch black, they're coming in from all sides
Play dead, you aren't the one feeding them
That does not mean the fires don't burn
Show me where to sign
Heavy are the thoughts
When we try not to think them
Stale go the words when they're said
Cold is the heart that was deat from the start
Born to die with no thoughts in our heads

General CommentI don't think I really understand the meaning of this entire song, but the chorus means alot to me. "This is survival - our demise | This is extinction - through modern eyes". To me, it's saying our constant efforts to keep the human race alive through technology, medicine, etc. is only bringing us down as a race entirely. Like the world overpopulation is causing more and more people to suffer and die because of lack of supplies, food, and sickness. Our "modern eyes" see helping these people as being the right thing to do, yet it's only causing more pain, really. We're surviving only to die, thus the lyric "This is survival - our demise". Get what I'm saying?
