Friends tell me it's spring
My window show the same
Without you here the seasons pass me by
I know you were not new
That loved like me and you
All the same I miss you
Today has been OK
Today has been OK

The preacher lost his son
He's known by all in town
He found him with another son of God
Feeding on the prayer
Never mind what God said
But love had lost its cause
And I thought today had been OK
Today has been OK
Today has been OK

Wind has burned your skin
The lovely air so thin
The salty water's underneath your feet
No one's gone in vain
Here is where you'll stay
'Cause life has been insane but
Today has been OK
Today has been OK
Today has been OK
Today has been OK

this song carries so much emotion and strength within the lyrics alone. but it fits so perfectly to the music...and her voice...and the song is really so powerful.

My favorite song off The Fisherman's Woman album. It's such a beautiful and delicate song about facing different hardships and overcoming them by just surviving. Her voice is so lush and the music is so simple and bittersweet.

odd coincidence: emiliana's from iceland, as are sigur ros and siggi and stefan from gus gus. well, these last two, using the pseudonym celebrator, directed a video (vidrar vel til loftarasa) for sigur ros in which we see the story that emiliana refers to in the second verse (the preacher's son in love with another boy - a very touching video). as björk has also said, in iceland pretty much everyone knows each other. funny to see such a cross-referencing, though...

Gorgeous song. Delicate really is the perfect word to dsecribe it. I heard it on Grey's Anatomy, and the chorus was stuck in my head for days. I finally searched for the song, bought it and listened to it constantly for about a week. So beautiful...

Im guessing this is certainly about a preacher catching his son in a homosexual sitiuation, maybe having sex with another guy. She made her point well, I am a gay activist and I´ve been listening to this song for about 6 months and I never got that part because it was so suddle. She didnt make a big deal out of it, as though it was just a small memory passing through her head while writing this song. Lovely song it is!

i first heard this song on sugar rush. and if the theory about homosexuality is true, then it's very fitting indeed :P

i fell in love with it, soon as i heard it. beautiful stuff. :)

    My Interpretation

i think she is saying about how her friends keep telling her to feel ok, although she is not able to because of her lost boyfriend.

'Friends tell me it's spring My window show the same'

her friends tell her everything is fine but she can't feel fine

'All the same I miss you Today has been ok Today has been ok'

the day was the same for her as the others was, she is feeling down, which has already become normal to her

'Wind has burned your skin The lovely air so thin The salty water's underneath your feet No one's gone in vain Here is where you'll stay 'Cause life has been insane but Today has been ok Today has been ok Today has been ok Today has been ok'

again she is saying about how she feel the same, but it's ok to her.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

American Town
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran shares a short story of reconnecting with an old flame on “American Town.” The track is about a holiday Ed Sheeran spends with his countrywoman who resides in America. The two are back together after a long period apart, and get around to enjoying a bunch of fun activities while rekindling the flames of their romance.
