"Tongue" as written by Joseph Todd Poole, Paul Allen Crosby, Christopher Jon Dabaldo, David A. Novotny, Joseph Scott Sappington and Wayne A. Swinny....
This one's for you
This one's for me
This one's for you
This one's for me

I've got a nervous feeling over you
But who am I fooling,
I like airline food

I need to feel whole
I need to feel young again
I need to be bold
And start using my tongue again

They can laugh as they cry
They can cut till I bleed
But I ain't losing
'cause this one's for me

General CommentWhile Damien Rice's version changes the lyrics in the prechorus a bit, the meaning's still the same -

Overall, this song sums up the end of a bad relationship - there's a powerful desire to be free that becomes absolutely necessary. Independence - "This one's for me."

General Commentmaybe i'm just filthy minded and not imaginative at all but i automatically jumped to the oral sex conclusion, "this ones for you, this ones for me" and "i need to be bold and start using my tongue again" then again sex just automatically comes to mind when i see Paul Noonan :)
