"Crying Shame" as written by and Brent Maher Don Schlitz....
It's such a tight game
Will it ever stop?
How will this all play out?
Both sides out of mind now

By now we should know how to communicate instead of coming to blows
We're on the road and there ain't no stopping us now
We're burning under control
Isn't it strange how we're all burning
Under the same sun
By now they say if it's a war for peace
It's the same old game
But do we really want to blame?
We could close our eyes it's still there
We could say it's us against them
We could try but nobody wins
Gravity has got a hold on us all
We could try to put it out
But it's a growing flame
Using fear as fuel
Burning down our name
And it won't take too long
Cause words are burned the same
Then who are we gonna blame
Now and all

It's such a crying, crying, crying shame
It's such a crying, crying, crying shame
It's such a crying, crying, crying shame
Shame shame shame

By now it's beginning to show
A number of people their numbers that ain't coming home
I could close my eyes it's still there
Close my mind, be alone
I could close my heart and not care
But gravity has got a hold on us all
It's a terrific price to pay
But in the true sense of the word
Are we using what we've learned
In the true sense of the word
Are we losing what we were

It's such a tight game
Will it ever stop?
It's not for me to say
And is it in our blood?
Or is it just our fate?
And how will this all play out?
Both sides out of my mind now
Who are we gonna blame all and all?

It's such a crying, crying crying shame
It's such a crying, crying crying shame
It's such a crying, crying crying shame, shame, shame

General Commentas far as songs that send a great message of jacks, i think this one ranks up there with cookie jar, its amazing how he comes up with stuff.

by now it's starting to show
a number of people are numbers
    who ain't coming home
i can close my eyes, it's still there
    close my mind be alone
i could close my heart and not care
but gravity has got a hold on us all
it's a terrific price to pay

Above talks about the war and the toll it takes without people even noticing, i mean everyday on the news you hear of another person dead, and it has no meaning. one person dead is a tragedy, a thousand dead is a statistic. i think thats what jack is getting at some.

we could say it's us against them
we can try but nobody wins
gravity has got a hold on us all
we try to put it out
    but it's a growing flame
    using fear as fuel
    burning down our name
and it won't take too long
cause words all burn the same
and who we gonna blame now

i have to really give credit to jack, he sees things like the actually are, and puts it into words so well. I hope this song gets the recognition that cookie jar did, cause its definately just as good in my eyes...if not more meaningful to whats going on during the times right now....

General CommentI've just recently got into this guy and he's amazing. This song though, if have to agree woth heath_soccer4. This son's about war and the effects it has on our lifes.

The words "We can say its us against them, we can try but nobody wins" sums it up for me. War sucks and serves no purpose.

General CommentI agree with Micron. This is an anti-war song. He is saying that war isn't really solving anything and that so many of the soldiers are not coming home.

General Commentthe lyrics are a little off ..if i knew how to change it i would but i dont so here you go ..

    It’s such a tired game
    Will it ever stop?
How will this all play out
Out of sight out of mind

By now we should know how to communicate
Instead of coming to blows, We’re on a roll
And there ain’t no stopping us now
    We’re burning under control
Isn’t it strange how we’re all burning under the same sun?

Buy now and save, it’s a war for peace
    It’s the same old game
But do we really want to play?
We could close our eyes its still there
We could say it’s us against them
We could try but nobody wins
Gravity has got a hold on us all
We could try to put it out, but it’s a growing flame
    Using fear as fuel
    Burning down our name
And it won’t take too long
    Words all burn the same
And who are we going to blame now?

It’s such a crying, crying, crying shame

By now it’s beginning to show
A number of people are numbers that aren’t coming home
I could close my eyes it’s still there
    Close my mind be alone
I could close my heart and not care
But gravity has got a hold on us all

But in the true sense of the word
Are we losing what we were?

    It’s such a tired game

Is it in our blood or is it in our fate?
And how will this all play out?
Out of sight, out of mind
Who are we going to blame all in all?

It’s just a crying, crying, crying shame
