"Drugs Or Jesus" as written by Aimee Mayo, Troy Verges, Brett James and Christopher Marsh Lindsey....
I just walked in and you were gone
To your mama's I suppose
It looks like you won't be back, so I thought you'd ought to know
I found that note you left today
It only took you half a page
I'm gonna grab my old guitar, take a pencil from the jar, fill in the empty space

[Chorus:]
I'm gonna tell you how I feel, straight-up genuine and real
Open a bottle of ninety-proof and write a song for you
Like Kristofferson would do

In each line you're gonna hear "it's my fault" and "I miss you"
I know it won't be in time, it may not even rhyme
But all it has to be is true

I'm gonna tell you how I feel, straight-up genuine and real
Open a bottle of ninety-proof and write a song for you
Like Kristofferson would do

I'm gonna tell you how I feel, straight-up genuine and real
Open a bottle of ninety-proof and write a song for you
Like Kristofferson would do

I'm gonna drink this bottle of ninety-proof and sing this song for you
Like Kristofferson would do

General Commentthough a wee bit cheesy I really like this song. Drugs are a huge problem here in my town, i'm the only one of my friends from high school who isn't a non functioning stoner, and probably one of the only kids who has never even done drugs. I love the lines "Everybody just wants to get high
Sit and watch a perfect world go by "
It's so true around here, no one wants to do anything but go sit in a basement and smoke it or whatever, I mean we've all graduated and everything yet this is still their main perogative (sp).

General CommentThis song is beautiful, because it actually can be related to. I am glad he put out this song and hopefully more people can fully appreciate what is being said as they live life and see the impact of drugs versus the impact of faith...

General CommentEverybody has their own way of dealing with the pressures of life. Some choose drugs, some choose alcohol, some choose religion. You people call prettyxlush a "friggen" loser for doing drugs, but maybe (s)he thinks you're a loser for believing the words written in a 2000 year old book. We all have our own way. This isn't what the song is saying, this is just MY opinion.
