Pale yellow scratching at my ear,
Pale yellow touching to my rear

Forever tangled, forever mustard,
Forever my first word's beer,
Forever yellow, wonder if I'll muster
Anything other than fear

Pale yellow, wanting something clear,
Pale yellow, daunting task cannot be that near

Forever leering, forever dashing,
Forever looking to peers,
Forever hollow, that's worse than yellow,
Piss is the color of tears,
This is the color of tears

Running scared,
Running scared

Pale yellow holding on,
Brace myself to stand,
Tell myself it is okay,
Taking my own hand

Forever peering into the water,
Returning back to the sea,
Under the sea foam,
Where I have come from,
Breathing freely

Forever yellow, forever yellow. .

    My Interpretation

I understand your confusion, lol my thoughts are that the people who wrote down the lerics are confused. I beleive that the line that says: "Piss is the colore of tears", is in actuality a repeat of the last line after it. Instead its an emphisis: "This is the color of tears, This is the color of tears."

But on the other hand, I do beleive that you've grasped the essance of the song. It is a song about relationships, but I think we can pull more out of it":

    1) "Pale yellow scratching at my ear, Pale yellow touching to my rear Forever tangled, forever mustard, Forever my first worst fear, Forever yellow, wonder if I'll muster Anything other than fear"

This stanza describes how the person identifies themself with their hair. It is described as long, and musterd yellow, and a constant worry and care for them. Notice, i did alter the one of the lines to fit how i beleive the song is sung. I may be wrong, but this is where i stand. Take it as you will. The singer goes on to say that they consider themself a coward, using a diffrent variation on the word 'yellow', and worries that they will always be afraid.

    2) "Pale yellow, wanting something clear, Pale yellow, daunting task cannot be that near Forever leering, forever dashing, Forever looking to peers, Forever hollow, that's worse than yellow, Piss is the color of tears, This is the color of tears

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
