"You Can Have It All" as written by Nicholas Hodgson, Charles Richard Wilson, James Rix, Nicholas Baines and Andrew Robert White....
I tell you what it's going to be like
I saw you on the bus and that was that
There's more to this than passing by
There's more to this than meets the eye

I tell you what it's going to be like
I saw you on the bus, I saw your shoes
They fell apart some time ago,
I'll buy some more in 5 years

[Chorus]
It's not my fault, I don't care
I don't regret a single thing
It's not my fault, I don't care
I don't regret a single thing

I tell you what it's going to feel like
You've lost a limb and you can feel it
It's too late, at night, not by my side
'Cause I'm not there to hold you too tight

I tell you what it's going to be like
Well you can never hold my hand in public
They can't know or understand
That you and me are now together

[Chorus]

You can have it all if that's alright
And I will give it all to you cause you never fight
You can have it all if that's alright
And know that you can have it all if it's alright

[Chorus]

You can have it all if that's alright
And I will give it all to you cause you never fight
Before that you could have it all if that's alright
And I would give it all to you cause you never fight
Before that you could have it all if that's alright
If it's alright

General Commentsome of these lyrics are wrong. it should be:
"you've lost a limb and you can feel it ITCH you late at night, not by my side,
coz im not there to hold you too tightly"

    and then
"you can have it all if thats alright,
and i would give it all to you 'cos you'd never fight me for it,
and you can have it all if thats all right (repeat till end of song etc...)

General Commentlosing a limb is often used as a metaphor for losing the one you love. The sortof, "you feel like part of you is missing" thing.

I saw it a bit like a relationship that they have to keep hidden, and have to act like just passers by in the street- possibly because he's gone onto fame (hence the "It's not my fault I don't care I don't regret a single thing") and she doesn't want the limelight that comes with having a famous boyfriend.

General Commentdamn triggerhappy mouse clicking finger.

what i would've said is that it's not necessarily a fame thing, it could be for other stuff where something has changed and she doesn't want the rest of the world to know they are together, or still together. That's why he's telling her what it'll be like if they have to do that..

General Commenti still don't really get the "it's not my fault i don't care i don't regret a single thing" bit. so if anyone would care to elaborate...

and is it from the point of view of the person who's decision it was to not be seen together, or is it the other way round?

i love this song, its one of the best, along with saturday night.

General CommentIts a common question Shezza gut a good one.

The KC's switch between characters alot, the song/story its sung or told by both characters it switches back and forth.
