So they, make believe;
They don’t know they fool themselves.
Embarrassed, but not ashamed
to admit that I don’t know.

F*** the stars – burn the books –
Race yourself to the beginning.

And nothing that I say will be remembered
unless it’s written down; unless it’s carved in stone.
Uncertainty is all that’s sure.
Does it really matter?! Does anybody care?!
The stars will fade in time; Our voices fade with years.

So I push away
these earthly things - my humanness.
There has to be something else.
Born into the wrong world.

And nothing that I say will be remembered
unless it’s written down; unless it’s carved in stone.
Uncertainty is all that’s sure.
Does it really matter?! Does anybody care?!
Uncertainty is all that’s sure.
The stars will fade in time; Our voices fade with years.

General CommentReally cool intro to the song (instrumentals).

Also, really sweet instrumentals between (and into) the two ending choruses...really gives you a sense of feeling that the lyrics are trying to portray.

Although I'm not sure what he means by the lyrics "Race yourself to the beginning"...
I'm sure this song is about the feeling we sometimes get to connect to something "bigger".
And that we don't just want to be a blip on the timeline of existence.
Also, that although we're unsure of the future: (Uncertainty is all that's sure)
we should all recognize that we should be doing something important, that we enjoy doing, and that will be remembered, while we still have the ability to:
(Does it really matter?! Does anybody care?!
The stars will fade in time; Our voices fade with years)

that's my take on it. Could probably be interpreted slightly differently in a few different directions.
