Red white and blue
they inject in our minds;
It's on the evening news
and it's making us blind.
A picture perfect image
where everything's fine;
You'll never see the curtain
they're hiding us behind

This is your America!

This is your America for which you would die
this is your America, WHY?
(X2)

They tell you that it's freedom
expecting no question.
They tell you that you need them. They hide their true intentions;
cause if you knew the truth
that you weren't a drone
then you'd know you were able
to stand on your own.

This is your America!

This is your America,
for which you would die.
This is your America,
WHY?
(X2)

the tree of liberty
must be watered by blood.
Watered by blood,
Watered by blood,

This is your America,
for which you would die.
This is your America,
WHY?
(X2)

The tree of liberty must be watered by blood
(Repeated several times)

    General CommentThis song has some awesome metaphors and a great subject (who doesn't like songs that question the government). Very true.

    General CommentI also like how the song is directed at the many ignorant, careless Americans...telling them hey not everything is fine and dandy here, and saying why have blind trust. sorry for posting twice in a row.

    General CommentYeah, and if you're a fan of I-Defy and you've heard them in concert or just heard their recent CD, you'd know just how passionate the singer is about what he sings. In this song specifically, I love the way he screams at the top of his lungs, yet holds the note for 10 seconds when he says "WHY?"

    I also love how he (and the instrumental) build up while approaching the chorus. Really gets you pumped. Would be great to mosh to.

    General CommentFYI, for those of you who are not hardcore I-Defy fans, this song is basically the song they're most known for. The message in this song is pretty much the founding beliefs of I-Defy, and what most of their lyrics in some way or another can relate to. It's a real crowd-pleaser at concerts.

    But I must say, as much as I enjoy this song, there's a couple other of their songs that I think have a better overall quality. Too bad one of them was never released to the public yet (well, besides concerts). I'll post those songs' lyrics later, once I verify the lyrical correctness. Wouldn't want to dishonor the band. :(
