"Never Say Goodbye" as written by Eric D. Dawkins, Harvey Jay Mason, Damon E. Thomas, Antonio Lamar Dixon and Jason Paul Edmonds....
If I could take this moment forever
Turn the pages of my mind
To another place and time
We would never say goodbye

If I could find the words I would speak them
Then I wouldn't be tongue-tied
When I looked into your eyes
We would never say goodbye

If I could stop the moon ever rising
Day would not become night
Wouldn't feel this cold inside
And we'd never say goodbye

I wish that our dreams were frozen
Then our hearts would not be broken
When we let each other go

If I could steal this moment forever
Paint a picture-perfect smile
So our story stayed alive
We would never say goodbye

General CommentSuch a beautiful song. Its about knowing that nothing lasts forever and wanting to freeze moments in time from the point of view of a relationship.

General CommentI was reading a book several months ago (true story), diaries written by a girl who lived a couple of hundred years ago. Her closest friend took his own life. I happened listen to the Pure album at the time I was reading this and the words reminded me of what I was reading.

“If I could take this moment forever
Turn the pages of my mind
    To another place and time
    We would never say goodbye.”

She would turn through the pages of her old diaries to look for recollections of happy moments that would never return, as if she was trying to freeze the past in her mind. This sad, beautiful song seemed to echo her emotions that I was reading. In a sense their story has stayed alive through her writing, like the line in the song.

General Commentthe words are really sad but beautiful in this song, my auntie chose them for her son at his funeral. it had everyone crying. it was soo sad, and when you listen to the words you can think that she is singing them and saying she wishes she could never say goodbye.
