"Amethyst" as written by Charles Simpson, Alex Westaway, Dan Haigh and Omar Abidi....
She smokes like an amethyst
She's moving her way through my skin
She moves me
'Cause east is the way I go
But nobody seems to notice
How I feel

Keep all the lights off
And I'll try to kill our past time
Just to find your heart
Please don't ignore me
Or I'll just fall asleep
And wake up when you're gone

This body only needs
To learn to feel the problem disappear
I froze with those plastic eyes
Cutting lose from upon this disguise

Keep all the lights off
And I'll try to kill our past time
Just to find your heart
Please don't ignore me
Or I'll just fall asleep
And wake up when you're gone

She smokes like an amethyst
She's moving her way through my skin

General Commentthis is about a guy feeling like he cares more for his girlfriend than she does for him. he talks about pretending he wants to end things, (il kill us faster) just to see if she really cares (find your heart)

General CommentI thought it sounded like Muse at the beginning, and even past that, I think this song is awesome. Kavna got it spot on, I think. I was recently in the situation of thinking I cared more for a girl than she did for me, and eventually I lost her, but basically this song really gels with me now.

General Commentwoo im goin to see them in london in march :) cant wait. i love this song... to me its about a guy who realy like and is affected by a girl who is maybe a very close friend who he has realy fallen for. he wonders if he had made a move before they became so close then she wouldent think of him as just a friend but notice him as some1 she can love and have a relationship with...."Please don't ignore me"

so he thinks if he could " try to kill the past time", and start all over then try and find her heart or her love.

    "Or I'll just fall asleep,
And wake up when you're gone
    This body only needs
To learn to feel the problem disappear
I froze with those plastic eyes
Cutting lose from upon this disguise
    "
he cant keep on goin like it is, being around her and not being able to do anything about it ,so his thinking of telling her, and leting go of the disguise or hidden love for her....

great songs like this mean different things to different people. and thats what i make of it. :)

General CommentThe line is kill us faster not kill our past time.

the song is about a guy that likes his girl more than she like him. Kill us faster just to find your heart means that he'll deliberately try and end their relationship to see if she'll try and hold on to it, to see if she really cares

The fall asleep line means that if she doesnt try to hold on then he'll stop trying and he will let them break up (wake up when you're gone).

The title is an proclaimation to her beauty. An Amethyst is a purple stone. It's really pretty and that is what he is calling her.

The body line is about how he needs to admit to himself the problems in his relationship or learn to not care about them anymore

the line about the eyes is about how he pretended to be someone she would care about but she didnt care anyway

No, it's 'past time'. Check the booklet of the 'They Liked You Better When You Were Dead' EP or CD.

General CommentThis is purely about what a person makes the writer feel like even if what the person may be doing some thing deemed disgusting "she smokes like an amethyst"

"she is moving her way through my skin" = gives that amazing tingly feeling that you get when you like someone (sorry for the cliche but it's true :) )

however no matter how he tries, he cant seem to egt her to notice him

i think the chrorus speaks for itself but almost looks as if the story has jumped forward somewhat by saying "I'll try to kill our pastime"

the rest of the song gives the same ignored feeling all the way through till the end

thats what it think it means :P

(fightstar is my fav band and been since they started, out of all their songs this one means the most to me)
