"Fait Accompli" as written by Toni Halliday and Dean Garcia....
Every day there is some kind of darkness,
That just won't go away,
No matter how hard I try.

Crawls into your system while your guard is down,
Becomes the ball that you drag around to,

Every party,
At every function,
To give to people with written instructions,
Don't try to get away,
I'm here to stay,
My name is fate.

Every night sleep wonders on its own,
Never once does it kiss me,
With its chloroform.

It crawled into my system while my guard was down,
Became the bore I like to have around at,

Every party,
At every function,
I give it to people with written instructions,
Don't try to get away,
I'm here to stay,
My name is your fate.

I've come to crush your bones,
I've come to make you feel old,
I've come to mess with your head,
Cause it'll make you feel good.

I've come to make you feel good,
I've come to make you feel good,
I've come to make you feel good, alright yeah,
I've come to make you feel good, alright yeah,
I've come to make you feel good, alright yeah,
I've come to make you feel good, alright yeah.

Come to the party,
Come to the function,
Give me aggression with written instructions,
Don't try to get away,
I'm here to stay,
Hear me now.

General CommentIt is definitely about dependence, perhaps chemical and definitely emotional. Chemical dependence makes sense since Toni Halliday who wrote the lyrics has been frank about her addiction and recovery.

I believe it is also about that life making you dependent on the tedious vapid party people you become surrounded by because of it. From another emotional standpoint, it can refer to a romantic relationship that insinuates itself into your life to the point where you lose your own identity. Then that person eventually becomes "the bore (or boor, depending on her meaning) you drag around like a ball and chain. I believe she changes her narrative voice throughout the song talking in third person in some places and first person address at others:

"I've come to crush your bones...mess with your head... coz it'll make you feel good" has two meanings.
    1. It can be seen as the narrative from the drugs point of view, as if they were personified.
    2. It is her not so subtle but playfully dark warning to anyone who would try to tie themselves to her fate through a romantic relationship. Kinda like, be careful you might get what you wish for.

General CommentI think it's about AIDS. The background vocals seem to sing FATE in fact i hear AIDS. At first it looks like depression, but when you know they sometimes try to write about two things at the same thing, could well apply to AIDS also. The ball you drag around, AIDS is a ball on the microscope. Written instructions, AIDS gives instructions thru its RNA to copy itself from infected cells. I give it to people, infect. Then there is the phrase it will make you feels good. Well, how can someone explain that about AIDS. Well, in fact, many people who have AIDS develops a new vision to life, and it actually change their life (by force) for the better. Could apply to drugs also. Then, the tile Fait Accompli, which means in french, already done, would mean you have catch AIDS, it's fate, it's a fait accompli. I also heard this song was in a charity about AIDS but it's only a rumour.

General CommentC'mon guys! Surely there is no hidden message? Fait Accompli? It's written on the tin! It's about fate, pre-destiny, etc. It's about the inevitability of getting old, worrying about getting ill and laying in bed worrying about all those scary things (or at least they are at 3am in the morning) that keep people awake at nights... about the whole 'You can't get away from your own fate' - issue: Birth, School, Work, Death.
