"Better Off" as written by and Shana Levy....
Don't get so excited
You're likely to hurt yourself.
You're head looks disproportionate
From pushing too hard to believe

You're not wrong,
Just better off thinking it was only love.

It hurts like a splinter stuck in your foot
And you've tried, but can't get it out.
And of course, you walk in the heat for miles.
You forget the pain, but it comes back after a while.

You're not wrong,
Just better off thinking it was only love.
You're not wrong,
Just better off thinking it was only love, it was only love.

You're not wrong,
Just better off thinking it was only love.
You're not wrong,
Just better off thinking it was only love,
It was only love, it was only love, it was only love.

Let's Go Sailing is one of my favorite bands.

The song is about getting over someone. She is comforting a friend who has just broken up with someone, probably a male friend. There had been issues all through the relationship but he left them alone in hopes they would go away:

"And of course, you walk in the heat for miles.
You forget the pain, but it comes back after a while."

She is trying to put Love down to something that doesn't matter much so it doesn't feel like her friend has lost everything:

    "It was only Love"

It's a very sweet song and her voice is so comforting and sincere.

General CommentI agree with RedHeadedRay; it sounds like she's comforting a friend, rather than herself, and trying to downplay love.
    Such a beautiful song.
