"Alms" as written by David Craig, Barry Hyde, David Hyde and Ross Millard....
You wasted it, you fell asleep
It was not late, you missed the point

You wasted it, you fell asleep
It was not late, you missed the point

You wasted it, you fell asleep
It was not late, you missed the point

You thought that you could disappear
You thought it easier to be here
You thought that you could disappear
You thought it easier to be here

You wasted it, you fell asleep
It was not late, you missed the point

Don't ask me for alm, don't ask me for alms
Don't ask me to follow you anywhere, don't ask me for alms

All aboard at port be, hurry hurry hurry hurry hurry
All aboard at port be, hurry hurry hurry hurry hurry

When you get to port see you will be happy
When you get to port see you will be happy
Happy happy happy happy happy happy happy no

Don't put me in your arms, don't put me in you're arms
Don't ask me to follow you anywhere, don't ask me for alms
Don't ask me for alms, don't ask me for alms
Don't ask me for alms, don't ask me for alms

General CommentI think it's about a relationship and the girl wanted to leave and now she wants to come back but he won't take her back and he's determined to not feel bad about it. He wants to leave the situation (all aboard to port b) and get away from it all (when you get to port c you will be happy).

General CommentIt weird that you think it's the best song on the album, LUB. In my opinion it's the weakest.

Oh well, horses for courses. :)

General Commentwell alms is a type of charity that someone gives, so im gonna go with that this song means that he's saying basically, " you've left me, and not you want me back you want my charity (alms) but no, you left me, ive moved on"
well thats what i think anyways. i think this song is ace, i just wish it was longer
