"Call Of The Night" as written by and Chris White....
I was born when the sun
Had gone from the sky
When the night had its rain
And the day had gone by

Oh yeah
I hear the call of the night
Yeah
I hear the call of the night

And when I was young
With the fever of life
The night cut my soul
Like the blade of a knife

Oh yeah
I hear the call of the night
Yeah
I hear the call of the night

Can you hear it when it’s near
Like a larva without fear
Can you feel it
Can you hear

Oh yeah
I hear the call of the night
Yeah
I hear the call of the night

And when I am old
And ready to die
I’ll fade as the sun
Will fade from the sky

Oh yeah
I hear the call of the night
Yeah
I hear the call of the night

General CommentThis was a demo from late 1966. You'll recognize that this song is really similar to another Zombies song called 'Girl Help Me'. 'Girl Help Me' was recorded after the band split and 'Call of the Night' features the original band.

Really a cool song. It's a lot darker than 'Girl Help Me', but maybe that's why they decided to change some lyrics around while keeping the same arrangement. I think I like this version a bit more, but I also like 'Girl Help Me' a great deal also.
