I think it happened at nighttime
A cold rain drizzled down from space
Hiding tears from streetlight eyes
I saw the same familiar face
Something pseudo tv love
A mixed up girl who's something of
A fairytales romantic dream come true

She breaks my heart and blurs my eyes
Her love is never easy
A magic made for tragic minds
And thinking back I should have known
That she could see right through me
And I would end up on my own

Gazing through my window
She glittered like the starlit rain
Whispering tales of broken hearts
She told me things would never change
There was only so much words could say
We closed our eyes and dreamed away
And for a time our love was almost real

She breaks my heart and blurs my eyes
Her love is never easy
A magic made for tragic minds
And looking back I should have known
That she could see right through me
And I would end up on my own

This is one of my favorite songs. I'm surprised no one has written about it yet.

This song reads almost like a story, the way most do for me:

"I think... from space" In the beginning, two lovers meet on a rainy night. One of them breaks the relationship with the other. "Hiding tears... face" The other was obviously stunned. Even though she's crying, she tries to hide it. The "same familiar face" refers to that of the other lover. "Something pseudo... come true" The "pseudo tv love" refers to the fact that the love they had wasn't real... at least not to a certain degree. The next two lines describe the lover.

"She breaks... never easy" This describes the love that the two had. It would have been one of those stressful relationships you hear about in High School. "A magic... my own" The girl must have known that it would end like this ("thinking back I should have known") & ("I would end up on my own"), but she continued on because she was addicted to love, and couldn't let go. ("A magic made for tragic minds") One line in this song kind of bugs me... ("That she could see right through me.") Normally when you can "see right through" someone, you can tell that they're lying or doing something for their own purposes. Maybe the girl was "using" her lover just to not be alone.

"Gazing through... starlit rain" Just like a story, this song has a "flashback". She's thinking back to when they met. It was on a rainy night just like the one they broke up on. "Whispering tales... never change" Her lover assures her, when they start the relationship, that they won't end up like everyone else (broken up and miserable). "There was... almost real" Just like in real life, there is only so much you can convey with words. The rest can only be understood by those who think alike. In the beginning, it worked very well, but then they understood that it wasn't right after all.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
