Scarred in the heart
Slashed in the vein
Nothing is changing
Nothing's the same
Lost in the head
Batteries dead
Crawling inside a stranger instead while you're

Waiting for somebody else (Waiting)
Somebody else (We're waiting)
Somebody else (For something / For someone / For something)
Whatever helps
While you're waiting for somebody else (Waiting)
Whatever helps (We're waiting)
Somebody else (For something / For someone / For something)
Cover the welts
Between here and tomorrow

A knife in the face
A hair out of place
All the excuses are only opinions
Feeling around
It's feeling the same
It's touching the dark
It's guessing a name while you're

Waiting for somebody else (Waiting)
Somebody else (We're waiting)
Somebody else (For something / For someone / For something)
Whatever helps
While you're waiting for somebody else (Waiting)
Whatever helps (We're waiting)
Somebody else (For something / For someone / For something)
Cover the welts

I am the weight around you (My scars are your scars)
I will be waiting to drown you (Your scars are my scars)
I will be here

Waiting for somebody else (Waiting)
Somebody else (We're waiting)
Waiting for somebody else (For something / For someone)
Whatever helps (For something else)

We're just waiting for somebody

I think it's just basically about being an unhealthy relationship and they're just 'waiting' for someone/something else. Until they completely move on from eachother, they'll have these 'scars' and bad memories of eachother. It'll be a constant struggle.

    I could be completely wrong.

Sounds to me like the character is saying that if people want to hurt themselves, they can do what they want, he doesn't care because it's not him. He's saying if hurting yourself is what hurts, so be it. Everyone is just waiting for someone to actually kill themselves, hence "Waiting for somebodyelse". My opinion anyway.

i think it's about one night stands, and the things you do with someone who might not be 'it' but you know you're just waiting for something better to come along. it's hopeful in the pessimistic way, if that makes sense. he knows that there is a chance there suffering and scars will be worth it in the end when he finds the right person.

    I see this as this:

Someone was obviously suffering from some emotional scarring. And, instead of taking time out and allowing it to heal, they went out and allowed themselves to be scarred more.

An example is like if a couple broke up on really horrible terms. The girl starts sleeping around, and becoming more and more numb. Inside, she's wishing that someone would rescue her from the hell that she's entered in. She's "waiting for somebody else."

That's just how I see it. That's the feeling I get from the atmosphere of that song.

I know this song is about every person as an individual waitting for their concious to finally come out. The individual has come to reality but piecing it all to gether is the hard part. This song is all about one person. SELF!

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
