"Midnight Express" as written by and Zoran Trivic Robert Nassif....

Train, of thought,
I've been riding on has been derailed...
All lives were lost,

My, seat, of choice,
Had been taken up by someone's corpse...
Guess I'll just stand,

Ooo Ooo Ooo, Ooo Ooo Ooo, Ooo-ooo,
Ooo Ooo Ooo, Ooo Ooo Ooo, Ooo-ooo,

Try, this time, to recover memories-
Colours fade.. to a dark shade,
This, train, of thought,
I've been riding on has been derailed...
All lives were lost.

Ooo Ooo Ooo, Ooo Ooo Ooo, Ooo-ooo,
Ooo Ooo Ooo, Ooo Ooo Ooo, Ooo-ooo,

(Did I turn?
Did I turn?
Did I turn?) Did I turn away?
(Did I turn?) Did I turn away?
(Did I turn?) Did I turn away?
(Did I turn?) Did I turn away?
(X2)
(Did I turn?) Did I turn away?
(Did I turn?) Did I turn away?
(Did I turn?) Did I turn away?
(Did I turn?) Did I, did I turn away?
(Did I turn?) Did I turn away?
(Did I turn?) Did I turn away?

General CommentI can't believe no-one else has written a cmment about this song... i love it, and gyro fuckin rocks
I think this song is just about life and the losses you experience altho its kinda hard to tell coz the lyrics off SHS can sound a bit random sometimes. anyone who doesnt have this cd NEEDS TO BUY IT especially if they like box car racer and my chemical romane and stuff like that

General Commenti find it hard to compare gyroscope with my chemical romance, they up a level if you ask me.. but hey, i'm a music snob. This song is my absolute favourite! I discovered gyroscope with this song. I was addicted to it for the whole year until the album came out. just in time for my birthday :D I'm not really sure what it's about, all i know is i love it!

Song FactTrivic: Midnight Express was actually from the Midnight Express EP, recorded by the late and great Shaun O'Callaghan. To me, this early Gyro tune represents everything that is Gyroscope in four minutes and 15 seconds: the brightest lights and the darkest shades.

We were a young, serious, fiercely positive, and desperate bunch of fuckers back in 2003 and 2004 – on social security, and on the road. This tune reminds me of a time when we were really writing songs off the cuff; when we didn't really know or care about song structure, we let the songs write themselves in a way.

Put simply, Midnight Express sounds like four dudes in the same band, playing the same song, at the same time. A lot of bands don't, or have never had that and for this song I'll always be thankful.
