(Leadfill: Suicmez)

Invisible blades penetrate
whereas stabwounds are not detectable.

Stabwound

The blade that stabs a back,
unsuspecting, forms the symbolic...

stabwound

(Leadfill: Suicmez)
(Solo: Muenzner)

There is no shield to protect from
attacks led by the ones one used to trust.

Stabwound

The blade that stabs a back,
unsuspecting, forms the symbolic...

stabwound

General CommentNo no, we have it all wrong, in one way or another this song is about death because every other song on the album is purely about death. I'm not sure to the meaning of this song so i wont even attempt to interpret it. I will say that it definitely is about death though because every other song on epitaph is directly about elements associated with death. A symbolic stabwound from a betraying friend would not cause death, certainly dismay, but not death. So somehow we haven't gotten the correct meaning to this song yet. Epitaph is an inscription upon a tombstone when one dies, a description of dead soul. Which is why THIS album is purely about death. Onset of putrefaction is more like morbid stuff, still death, but branches out into necrophagia and other gruesome topics thus is less refined.

General Commentthis song is about betrayal. hence the phrase backstabber . not literally a knife .but a metaphoric invisible knife.
