Girl at the bus stop, talking French
to her girlfriend on the bench
I had my head in a book
I lost my place when I took a look

Girl at the bus stop, I wished for once

My, my butterflies

Girl at the bus stop, I asked if she
would maybe like to come out with me
I noticed it had begun to snow
Her smile was sweet when she said

No, no, oh, no

General CommentIs there any better, or more oft-cited, theme to lyrics than unrequited love?! GATBS is IMO one of the greatest examples of a song about a guy taking a chance, putting his heart on his sleeve, and asking a girl - taking a chance - out on a date. And because he fails, he takes on - and sings - in a melancholy personna that is just perfect. I love this song for that. oh and one last ting - for whatever reason, I always imagined that this song took place in Boston. :)
