"Hang On, Siobhan" as written by and James Hamilton Leithauser Walter R Martin....
I'll be back tomorrow that is if you're here and you
Promise to keep it
Between you and me
It's all just a dream man it's all just a dream

I've been up half the night so get off it or leave
We're singing a song we don't care if we're wrong, have a drink on each
Other, and call it a day
You're calling me back, when the money is gone, that's all and for us

That's as good as it got
It's 4 in the morning the bars are unloading,
I go to the window and put down the shade
You're calling me back, yeah but that was no good,

I got tired of it
Day after day after day
So hang on Siobhan, you're a mystery to me but you don't hear me asking around
So hang on, we're coming on soon, it's so hard to get through to you

Hang on, we're coming on soon,
We're waiting to hear it from you
Hang on. hang on!

My InterpretationA one night stand with a clingy girl. Possibly where a girl really, really likes him and he was half into it. He knows he was selfish, but shes ultra clingy, trying to tell him what to do but he has more important priorities like the band, bars, being young, and he's putting her on hold for all of that. Saying if you wait, I'll be there, but I really can't wait til you put me on hold for your favorite things so I'll be off the hook. Most early 20's males can relate to that. lol. Could be wrong...any suggestions?

General CommentI mostly agree with you, but it seems like it was more than just a one night stand because of the lines "I got tired of it / day after day after day". I think there was more than one hookup, maybe to the point where they were almost in a relationship, but then he realizes he still wants to be free and tells her that it isn't going to happen at this point in time, although at a later time it could still work out.

General Commentyour a mystery to me but you don't hear me asking around. So simple, but powerful. "I'm curious about you to bitch, but I've learned how to keep my cool."
