The evening was long
My guesses were true
You saw me see you
That something you said
The timing was right
The pleasure was mine

The time and the place
The look on your face
Sincerest eyes

If you're ready or not
The state of our hearts
There's no time to take

When we started
Both brokenhearted
Not believing
It could begin and end in one evening

We were caught by the light
Held on the day
'Till it became hours
The minutes went by
The cab is outside
There's no time to take

When we parted
Moving on
And believing
It could begin and end in one evening

When we started both brokenhearted
Not believing
It could begin and end in one evening
When we parted
Moving on
And believing
It could begin and end in one evening

My Interpretation:This is a great song. I like Feist because her sound is very unique. She has mastered the art of evoking emotions. Her sound can make you think real hard and reflect on everything. I think this song in particular is about two people that have been burnt in past relationships and give up on them and keep it single from there on. Then they meet each other one and have a one night stand. They felt they had a connection but because of there past experiences they didnt speak there minds and moved on.

General Comment:this is a great song, and feist is making some really cool music, but holy crap this is literally the worst music video i've ever seen! i close my eyes when it comes on because i want to hear it, but not see it. it's too cheesy to be sexy and too serious to be funny. watch and you will understand

General Comment:The Mushaboom video is worse, for sure. I didn't think One Evening's video was too bad... I agree with lvr I guess. But yeah, this song is about a one night stand, but one that had actually feelings involved. "We held onto the day til it became ours" shows that they didn't really want to part the next day, "the cab is outside" meaning they have to for some reason? Whatever the meaning, this song is fantastic and so is Feist.

General Comment:I'm almost possitive that the music video is supposed to be comical.

General Comment:That is so funny. The reason I got into Feist was because of THIS video. I think this video is awesome. Obviously, it is suppose to be taken in jest. It is so Buck 65. If you saw him live, you'd appreciate this video.
