hear this a name sell
be the tolling of the iron bell
that will render me all the prize
it will cut these doubts right down to size
and without this thing without the drive
just to make you see how i am striving
to make a fist a voice if I could just make you hear make this all right and i'm
still still calling still still still calling
severed tongues and glowing eyes
in a threat that comes as no surprise
an expose of pearly lies for our
paper hero open wide
soon to be rendered obsolete
all you have belongs to me
glamour pigs media whores
let blood run like a water fall
toothy grins and limp handshakes
and prey to god your soul they take
now we're done cheering your name
i'll sell you out

General Commentthe last section goes like this, i think....

toothy grins and lamp and shades
a prank to go, your soul will seek
now we're done cheering your name
    (im sorry now)
    we're done cheering your name
    (im sorry now)
    we're done cheering your name
    (im sorry now)

this is such an amazing song, so emotional. to me personally, its about two guys who are in love with the same girl. it looks like one of them is going to get the girl and the other isnt - hence ''paper champion''. i think the middle section describes in the most beautiful way the utter agony our ''paper hero'' feels not being able to see her or speak to her (severed tongues and glowing eyes) and the pain he feels at being ''rendered obsolete''. in the end he decides to let fate take its course and whatever happens, happens (let blood run like a waterfall.)

im probably way off the mark, but thats what this song means to me because its exactly the situaution im in at the moment. one of my favourite songs of all time, from one of the most innovative and original bands to come out for a long time.

General Commentisn't it "all you have belongs to me"...? that's what i always thought, instead of "all you have been loosing me".

I thought it was about a celebrity becoming a sell out, and becoming nothing more than magazine material, just the whole "glamour pigs media whores...we're done cheering your name" bit
