Goodbye... Goodnight... Close your eyes... Angel.

I gave you the stars, because I can.
I tore them from the night.
Understand... They're in your hand.
God made them shine to prove that you were mine.
I miss you.

Goodbye... Goodnight.

Your eyes. Your smile... Beautiful. Perfect...
That scent you wore... I miss you.

I remember... My heart beat to the sound of your voice.
We would live forever, but God needs you more than I could ever.
I need you too... He took you and now I cry. You have died.
Watch over me. I'll keep the memories... I miss you.

The picnics. The walks along the beach. The movie nights.
( I miss you. I miss you angel.)

Goodbye... Goodnight... Close your eyes... Angel.

I'll do whatever I can so I can see you again.
So I can hold your hand.
I'd go to hell and back if you could breath again.
I'll do whatever I can so I can love you again.
To touch your skin.
(My heart is yours forever... Forever and here on after.)

I'll save myself for you and the memories.
The memories of what life was.

The picnics. The walks along the beach. The movie nights...
(I miss you. I miss you angel.)
The kisses. How you were shy with me.
I'll say it now...

Goodbye... Goodnight... Close your eyes... Angel.
Goodbye... Goodnight... Close your eyes... Goodbye.

How is it possible that no one has commented on this incredible song? Honestly, the first time I heard it I wanted to cry. As far as the meaning goes, I think it's pretty self-explanatory. The girl that he's in love with died and he's trying to get over her death but he can't stop loving her. The vocals in this song are absolutely amazing and it's by far Dear Whoever's best song.

"I gave you the stars, because I can. I tore them from the night. Understand... They're in your hand. God made them shine to prove that you were mine"
    Just beautiful.

This is such a pretty song. The songs about a loved one who has passed away, and he misses all the memories they shared together.

"Your eyes. Your smile... Beautiful. Perfect... That scent you wore... I miss you."

My altime favorite song by Dear Whoever

I <3 this song so much!!! Its just wooo so good and beautiful. I love the 'I'll do whatever I can so I can see you again. So I can hold your hand.' part!!! One of the best parts for me, couldn't get it out of my head, I was singing it all day =D.

Yehhh... pretty much easy to see what its about..about someone he loved who died and he's getting over that. He's saying he knows you died and went to heaven for a reason (god needs her) when it goes 'We would live forever, but God needs you more than I could ever. I need you too... He took you and now I cry. You have died. Watch over me. I'll keep the memories... I miss you.'

    its so sad ='(

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.
