Lost in slumber
A threat to no one
Weak and humbled
In my disgrace

Sweet departure
Is what I long for
Careless moments
To comfort me

Dead philosophy

If I offer you my soul
Will you carry me away?
I cannot be the only one
To be dehumanized again
Left behind

Too determined
To be forgotten
Nothing left to enrapture me
Hard and silent but softly breaking
No beloved to comfort me

Ooh, dead philosophy

If I offer you my soul
Will you carry me away?
I cannot be the only one
To be dehumanized again
Left behind

Feel the determination built into my mind

You're never gonna find me
I'll wipe the world away
Your face it will remind me
Just how much I have to leave

If I offer you my soul
Will you carry me away?
I cannot be the only one
To be dehumanized again, tell
If I offer you my soul
Will you carry me away?
I cannot be the only one
To be dehumanized again

Left behind

Into my mind

I love this song. To me its about being surrounded by a bunch of bullshit and willing to give up ANYTHING to flee from it.

It's about the cold and callous nature of the world. Desire for departure from the aspects of life that make human beings dehumanized. Without feeling or emotion. Desentized to love, pain, life or death.

Yeah, this song is about a guy trying to escape from things like Love. But without love, he won't feel human anymore. So he asks Love, he love takes him in, will he promise to never hurt him. And love says I can not garuantee that. So he keeps running.

He's saying the belief that life should be comforting and carefree is an unrealistic idea, and that while we can put on a show and make ourselves seem unafected in reality the world is breaking us down and he's not the only one suffering. Despite the fact that we know life is hell we still look for love and comfort from people we know suffered like us.

It's on the music as a weapon tour CD... live version is the only version.

I hope they release a studio version of the song - the live version is average quality.

I agree with Adam. The song talks about being lost in slumber, and a threat to no one. Oftentimes when people suffer depression they sleep a lot, and become a pushover. Then he talks about sweet departure. He's either referencing leaving whatever place he's in, or suicide. Since again, depressed people often have thoughts of running away or of suicide.

So pretty much the whole song ties into depression, and how when one is depressed they become dehumanized, since a depressed person often cares little about emotions such as love and happiness, etc etc. Yet emotions are what make us humans.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.
